We, myself included, whined and whined about the media manipulation
of this election. We decried their republican bias and yet they were right all along. They said a red tsunami was coming and, as we whined about their reporting, it washed over us.

We were so busy whining and in-fighting that we let insanity win the day. Now we get to see those idiots gloat.

3. For the last two months almost all the pollsters have predicted...
the loss of the House but the Senate was considered too close to call or barely a hold. They actually got it right.

9. So the Republicans had their little hissy fit yesterday.
Let them. It's not going to make their lives any happier. :)

6. Those of us who saw the problems with Obama's handling of
Congress and the Bush administration criminals were not in denial.

We were just resigned.

And here in California, people are more savvy than in the rest of the country. So, we are more liberal than ever.

10. Here in California we were fortunate to have the right candidates...
Meg Whitman was a lousy choice who was never liked by the far right in California. Fiorina also proved to be a poor choice for Republicans. Neither of them were able to glom on to the anger and angst on the John Birch Right. They had to run to the left of other anger mongers and it hurt them among the hateful and fearful right.

If there was a problems with Obama's agenda, it was in the economic side. There was never going to be an attempt to hold the Bush Administration responsible for their crimes, that was clear in 2006. But what hurt Democrats was the inability to change the economy on a dime, which would not have been possible anyway.

Californian's aren't more savvy, we just have a sufficiently large liberal culture to keep the populist anger at arms length. Prop 19 failed, which shows a lack of Savvy. The success in 2008 of Prop hate, and California's back and forth over gay marriage shows a lack of Savvy.

4. The red tsunami did not wash over California.
Here in California, we turned bluer than ever. I think the only exception to the blue tide was the attorney general's seat and some House seats.

We have had a succession of retro-Republican governors with a small break of four years of Democrat Gray Davis. Since the end of Jerry Brown's first term in 1983, we have had, as I recall, 8 years of Deukmejian, 8 of Pete Wilson, approximately 4 of Gray Davis and then Schwarzenegger for 8 years.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Governors_of_California

The Republicans made a mess of the state. Now it is up to Jerry Brown to straighten things out. I think he is the one man who can do the job.

California lead the nation toward a conservative turn with Ronald Reagan and will now lead the nation in a liberal direction. This is the most important news of the day.l

And it is positive for us.
