Election Results = Why I Live in CA
Yep, losing the House sucks. It's ironic that the people who will be hurt most by what the Rs will try to get through legislatively are also the people who voted most heavily for the Rs.

But yesterday was a great day for Ds in CA. Jerry Brown elected, Boxer reelected, Whitman and Fiorina sent packing, many D wins down ticket as well, Propositions passed that will end the gridlock of the 2/3 majority vote threshold in Sacramento, Prop 23 defeated (the one paid for by Tx oil companies and intended to destroy CA's global warming laws. Prop 19 was probably the least-important Prop on yesterday's ballot). On my local level, we recalled 3 anti-public school School Board members and replaced them with pro-public education people.

CA's elections yesterday were a Democratic dream. So sorry the rest of the country voted for stupidity and worse.

1. For Serious.
I would also like to point out the CO, CT, and MA all did a pretty good job of voting down the D line...

I love living in CA, and can't wait to see how Gov. Brown does. So proud of the CA voters..cept for 19 but I guess you can't win them all.

3. California leads the nation
The voting machines there have been tamed and a correct count is pretty much assured. Your results are evidence of that, the rest of the country has a long ways to go in that department.

4. Yes, but for most people, politics isn't the be all and end all of why they live where they do
Frankly I couldn't stand to live in California, too many people, too much insanity. Just my personal preference.

Furthermore, given that California has given us Nixon, Reagan, tax cutting madness and other weird conservative ideology, I wouldn't be too quick to crow if I were you, or crow too loudly.

6. Prop 8 and Prop 19...
and about 1/3 of the state is held by Republicans. I think plenty of Californians, even a majority, voted quite stupidly. I guess if that is a Democratic dream, you take what you can get.

You are lucky you have the privilege (or luck) to live where your political tastes suit you. The vast majority of people don't have that privilege, and your post comes across as naive and extremely.... shitty to all of us trying to get by where we are. The "things are just great here! Sucks to be you!" posts are about as stupid as they get.
