Whoever Fills Keith's Time Slot Will Not Have Me as a Viewer.
Edited on Fri Nov-05-10 04:24 PM by David Zephyr
I don't give a shit whether they put Dan Rather, Bill Moyers or somehow even raise Karl Marx from the dead and put him in Keith's spot, I won't watch it and I urge you not to either.

Keith courageously stood against the War in Iraq and was nearly fired by the CEO of General Electric, Jack Welsh, for doing so (the same Jack Welsh who demanded that NBC news anchors "call the election for Bush" in 2000, lied about doing so, and then confessed to it when a video surfaced showing him doing it).

Keith Olbermann has stood up for a woman's right to choose, for LGBT civil rights, calling out racists, naming names...you know all the untidy things that other television "stars" don't touch because it's radioactive to their careers in a ever consolidating media world.

Fuck MSNBC. I won't be watching until Keith is restored.

It was Keith show that drew the viewers that allowed that cable network to build upon that viewership that allowed an audience for Rachel Maddow and the others. It was Keith Olbermann who helped restore some spine to Chris Matthews.

And don't for one minute think that there wasn't a "message" to the others who have their nightly shows that an "example" was made and to beware.

But the same viewers that helped build that nightly bloc could also walk to another cable outlet that would eagerly want his sizable audience.

Like it or not, Keith Olbermann has an audience and that means advertising dollars.

Keith, you were heroic during the illegal war in Iraq.

And you, Sir, are still one in my eyes.

9. Are you kidding?.....They are considering Chuck Todd for Keith's place??
OMG...Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Even beyond his obvious slant to the right, he's the dullest "commentator" out there!

2. agree
although... while I am 100% it will not come to pass; Bill Moyers would be the deal breaker

3. Amen
KnR.

Although if they did manage to raise Karl Marx from the dead I may tune in for the first episode, at least for the novelty.

5. I will make one caveat on it
If KO quits and Rachel moves in the 8PM slot then I'd watch. But I'd boycott another hour in principle.

Anyone else I refuse to watch the 8PM hour.

Griffin may have just blown up MSNBC today.

6. I will be watching MSNBC just as much as I watch Faux Noise.
Rachael should quit to form her own network with Keith and Dan Rather.

7. Too bad, but we won't watch MSNBC at all. This is scary stuff.
We will miss Rachel, but it won't bother us that much. She won't be able to defend Keith O. or she will be gone as well.

And pretty soon everyone will be right down the middle, the sensible center.
