OK folks let's think this thing out
Turn off Rachel, Ed and Lawerence which will kill their ratings and then watch what replaces them. It is a bad decision but there are ways to fight for Keith and not cut off our nose in the process, like Turn in and all to boost their ratings while turning off the other shows on MSNBC. Do the things to help Keith if you want him back but don't kill off the others just to show MSNBC, but show strength in getting our media on air. To kill off the others to protest is throwing the baby out with the bath water and helping the right wing finish off our media.

2. Keep watching and compile lists of sponsors. Email the sponsors and cc MSNBC.
Tell 'em you will not patronize them till Keith returns.

That way you get your shows and protest too.

4. MSNBC has Mods and Admins too. I hope Keith can return from Suspension and not be Banned
If he broke the rules, or protocol, or whatever, he needs to grovel a bit to keep his job ... just like coming back from suspension or tombstoning at DU.

I really hope he can work it out because he's awfully good, even if he gets a bit carried away with the sound of his own voice sometimes.

In the meantime, I've signed two petitions so far: one for Daily Kos and one for Progressive Change Campaign.

What a mess.

6. Several points were made tonight.
What Maddow said tonight made a lot of sense.

Faux Noise hosts practically raise money for the Republican Party both on air and off air. They are not a real news organization, but a fund raising arm of the Republican Party.

She basically said that and said that the difference was that MSNBC was a NEWS organization not a political organization.

I see several possible scenarios playing out:
1. MSNBC did this to boost ratings and slam Faux, and Olbermann will be back. He might or might not be in on it.
2. MSNBC did this to boost ratings and slam Faux, and Olbermann will not be back.

Either way, Maddow just slayed Faux Noise with one small segment on her show. There is no fucking way Faux Noise can come back from this and try to deny what she reported. Her segment might just be the thing needed to end the era of Faux Noise being considered any kind of "news" channel.

So, is a boycott of MSNBC even the right thing to do at this point?

Maddow said Olbermann was "temporarily" suspended. That usually means the person will be back.

I'm thinking MSNBC just made a power play against Faux and Olbermann might be back. I don't even have the higher channels on cable (I have neither MSNBC or Faux or CNN, for that matter).

If we decide to boycott MSNBC, I just want to make sure we talk about these points first. What if MSNBC brings Olbermann back and this just slayed Faux "news" channel in a way that topples it? That might be important to think about.
