There are conservative actors, singers and athletes but ...
are there any conservative comedians?

Do Republicans have any sense of humor?

(And to call a buffoon like Limbaugh a comedian is to demean the craft of comedy.)

25. Precisely... once and NO MORE!
Dennis Miller is an absolute joke as a human being, and rates pathetic on the funniness scale. I really used to think he was hip and had cadence with his hipness. He lost all that - JUST like that.

This is what happens when you start jacking off with you right hand too much, I'm guessing.

67. I completely agree with you
I always found Miller unfunny, and his smugness so irritating!

His brilliant move was to sell himself as a hip, sophisticated comedian with a superior intellect. Those who didn't find him funny were of course too ignorant, uneducated and simple-minded to "get him". So many of his "fans" just wanted to show they had the intellectual superiority to get Miller's jokes.

Every time he said something and paused with that look of "aren't you dazzled by my brilliance?" I just felt like smacking him

22. Nick headlined one New Year here in San Jose.
Doug middled and he did the New Year thing after the show because Di Paolo couldn't be bothered. I was backstage with the comedians' dates and we had a great time. Di Paolo walks in, doesn't greet anyone and calls his date by the wrong name in his best East Coast Surly. A lovely young women who had just been laughing out loud a second before. I felt so bad that she had to spend the rest of the evening with that @sshole.

The right can have him.

Conservative comedians are like chickens' teeth, few and far between and rarely missed.

He went on a rant about Obama and health care on the Stern Show a few weeks ago, whining and crying about handouts in that dickhead Boston accent. He and Louis CK get into it about politics now and then. It's the only time he's remotely entertaining when he's getting his ass kicked.

30. I agree on the South Park guys
My wife had them pegged early on. We watched the show the first couple of years it was on and the missus (a comedy writer herself) figured out their RW bent pretty quickly. Those guys pissed me off royally a few years back when I read an interview with them where they complained about the liberal teachers they had to put up with. Of course, the great conservatives would have no problem with their talking poop character, right?

And yes, there are no funny RW comics. Conservatism and great comedy are mutually exclusive.

while the creators do go after conservatives, they really go after liberals as well. Besides I can't forgive the creators for Team America. Not because they satirized left-wing celebrities, but created a bigoted term that became popular.

On edit-Come to think of it. The left-wing celebrities' union was Film Actors Guild. I'm sure you can figure out what the acronym is for that.

46. It is almost impossible to be an American style conservative
and be a comedian at the same time. It has to do with status roles and comedy basics. Perhaps the essence of comedy is the methodical destruction of existing decorum, and conservatives want to preserve the existing decorum in a rather basic way. Attempts at 'conservative comedy' lead to mean material, which even conservatives do not find to be funny.
