Poll question: Who has the least power when it comes to enacting progressive policy?
Edited on Tue Nov-09-10 05:23 PM by jpgray
Assuming the desire to do so is there. If you don't mind, please post your answer as well--if you have an interesting rationale for your answer, please post that too if you can. (Again, only if you don't mind.)

1. The voters.
At this point in our history, they have no power whatsoever.

They are allowed to participate in choosing which bunch of traitors will wreck us, but that's all.

3. Definitely the voters
All voters can do is elect the candidates who promise they will enact progressive policies. If those politicians refuse to do so, then all the voters can do is replace them. But then you run the risk that the next bunch is just as bad.

6. Until we are
100% sure that our votes count, we will feel we have little to no power. Using touch screen ballots will always leave a question in the minds of voters. There must be a paper trail.

Then, even when our candidate wins, we don't really feel he/she is working in our best interest. He/she seems to work for the next campaign and the contributions. We need all contributions to go into one pot that will be divided equally among the candidates.

Then, maybe we can get some of our power back.
