There seem to be derisive points that get called up here at DU and in the general scheme of political discourse today. Smoking, guns, 9-11, and many other points that haven't come to mind while typing this.
These subjects along with other only serve to divide and fracture a good movement. I may or may not agree with you on these subjects but I imagine that we are on the same side. The side of the Democratic party with all its foibles and faults. I want to see a government more attuned to the needs and wishes of the common man. You. Me. I want to see a government less attuned to the needs of multinational corporations.
It seems that on this board there are many willing to go to the bone on arguments that may be personal but have no reality in the grand scheme of the governance of our country. These things have been capitalized upon by the Republicans for years. Knee jerk topics that do nothing but divide.
