YouCut website
Sometime back in the spring, a DUer posted a website sponsored by the GOP minority called YouCut, where the "average" American can suggest programs to cut. I'm going to repost the link so that we can see if the new GOP minority has the ability to listen to the will of the people, or if they are just smoke and mirrors, maybe call them out on their inevitable BS.

2. I heard about this site, I think it was earlier today. Regardless of what one...
...thinks of the Republicans, I think it's worth recognizing that little things like this help an American feel connected to their political party.

I should amend that, I feel it's terribly effective in promoting the perception that the party is listening to the voters. Now, the party itself (IIRC) gets to choose the choices and the people get to vote on which ones they pursue. Or something close to that.

Right now, I would love to have a crack at giving feedback to my party like the Republicans have with their party. It is all about perception. And, if it influences the actual legislative activity 1% more than before, that's one percent of influence the people didn't have.

Political parties are beholden to their constituents, whom they rely on keeping them in power. Keep the constituents happy.

3. We should all suggest things
like these:
  • Cut Congressional salaries
  • eliminate Congressional health insurance
  • eliminate Congressional pensions
  • eliminate Congressional junkets
  • eliminate Congressional expense accounts
You get the idea.

4. Ok I submitted an idea:
Close all military bases overseas and bring all the troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan

Made up a name should have made up an email address too, now I hope I don't get his mailing list.
