Check in here if you have something positive to say about the TSA feel-ups
I'll start: It seems to have raised public opinion about the ACLU:

“I would be very surprised if the average American would say this is O.K. after going through the kind of experience we’re hearing about,” said Jay Stanley, a senior policy analyst with the American Civil Liberties Union, which has received nearly 400 complaints from travelers.

24. Concern about the destruction of rights SHOULD
overtake the mindless, vacuous, tabloid Palin coverage which only serves to distract from serious issues like this. So that would be a good thing, if it continues.

12. Groping three year olds is not something to joke about. Nor is
seeing an entire population willing to throw out its Constitution to make people like Chertoff rich.

This country, submitting to the destruction of its rights and then joking about it, is a sad thing to watch.

Each step along the way to totalitarianism, was taken throughout history, based on fear. And it succeeded only because of a lack of courage among the various populations who succumbed.

I totally admire the few people left in this brain-washed society who are still trying to fight the authoritarians who have taken over this country and feel very sad to see the comments in this thread.

Losing rights in not funny, there are no jokes to be made about abusing law-abiding citizens and their rights to anyone watching what has happened to this country.

The abuses at the airport will not keep anyone safe, they will enrich people like Michael Chertoff, and will embolden those war criminals and profiteers to go even further if there is no resistance to these horrors.

The only positive thing about this is that it is making people more conscious of civil liberties and what price we're being asked to pay because politicians are so scared of being susceptible to the charge of allowing a terrorist attack on their watch.

PS: People joke about things they're uncomfortable about, not because they're mean or stupid but because they're human.

I wish the tone nannies would stop attacking people for being human.

good thing about them. And thanks to those who have refused to subject themselves to the abuse, maybe the total takeover will be slowed down a bit.

Anger seems to me to be the most appropriate response to having your babies and loved ones fondled by strangers in the name of security and authorized by any government. Treating every traveler was if they were going to jail for a crime, should evoke anger in any normal society.

Humor is fine, after the abuses are dealt with. But humor can be mistaken at this stage, for acceptance. I'm sure those who are behind this latest assault on freedom will attempt to inject humor into the issue. After all if something is viewed as amusing, how bad can it be?

If being outraged over this latest outrage is being a 'tone nanny', then that's fine with me. I prefer outrage, action and then humor when the danger is past.

I'll laugh when we are a free country again.
