You CAN do something about TSA. Here is airline toll free phone list
For anyone who is seriously ready to draw a line, here is one way to do it.

I have called several airlines and have called DisneyWorld and other large
family venues to state I have no intention of subjecting myself to TSA screenings, and thus have canceled my holiday vacation plans.( Even if you do not plan on flying, they do not know that)

They get enough calls, maybe they will think twice.

1. I don't think TSA is going to change policies because the airlines get complaints...
This is Government policy -- you're better off calling your elected officials. And if they refuse to take action, ask if they are prepare to waive their special priveleges and get checked with everyone else.

2. But who runs the government?
The big corps do. If the airlines tell the government to back off because their business is tanking, I'd wager the government will listen.

The little people have no lobbyists, but the airlines have plenty.

7. No, definitely contact the airlines ALSO.
They are the ones with the purse strings. If they are the targets of rage, protest, and defections from their customer base, they will fight this also.

We have a much, much better chance of succeeding here if the airlines join the complaining.

3. So, it's OK to lie to the airlines...I get it.

How about contacting your members of Congress and tell them what you think? At least you'll be able to tell the truth. As for the airlines, they'll figure out whether people are cancelling flights pretty quickly, you know. They keep track of things like that.

No doubt all the calls threatening to cancel non-existent reservations will go right into the bit bucket. People who actually cancel a real reservation will get noticed.

Unrecommended for recommending untruthfulness in dealing with the airlines.

5. Lie? Here you are again, attempt to protect
these practices. I am amazed that any liberal would not be outraged, as we all were when these machines were first introduced early in the Bush administraion. Did you support them in 2004 when we were signing petitions, calling the airlines, calling Congress, supporting the Civil Rights groups who successfully opposed them?

Back then you could not find a liberal anywhere, who supported Bush's attempts to destroy our rights. Where you were on the issue of these machines back then? My position hasn't changed, only those in power have changed.

8. Not necessary to lie to them at all.
I have contacted them to let them know I will not be flying again until this is resolved.

6. Thank you I will do so as we intended to fly to NY for Christmas
but will be cancelling that trip. We have looked into going by train and if everyone can get the extra two days or so off, that's what we will do. I've always wanted to travel across the country by train anyhow, this seems like a good time to do it.

:kick: and rec'd for a very useful OP!
