Poll question: Does it excuse the start of Christmas so early?

About 2 weeks ago my wife was in a store buying something. They already had Decorations up for Christmas and music playing.


My wife groaned and ask the woman (manager of the store) checking her out. Why so early? The woman kind of laughed understanding my wife dread but explained that what most don't realize is that they are in a sense Preparing/catering to those who get paid once a month.


Basically by pushing back Christmas earlier they are giving people who are limited in pays more chances for shopping.


Knowing this information does it change your view point?

1. I don't want to see a MENTION of Christmas before December 5th

Christmas = buying shit, and I don't need someone to tell me to buy shit.

2. It has never bugged me that thanksgiving is considered the start of the winter holiday season.

I get paid once a month (mid month) and I recently found myself thinking what a pain in the ass Thanksgiving and Christmas must be for people who are trying to stretch their budgets near the end of the month.

3. They had Christmas stuff out before Halloween.

Somebody saw 'Nightmare Before Christmas' and had a mindgasm of marketing that would allow for damn near a full quarter of Holiday season or something.

4. Macy's in Newport Center (Jersey City) had'em up October 15.

5. The "war on xmas"...

...starts earlier too for them, I guess. Our complaints of 'earlier every year' are part of our anti-christmas agenda. I get tingles of evil joy when I hear them cry over it.
