HOUSTON — An Oklahoma constitutional amendment aimed at stopping the use of Islamic law in its courts was dealt a serious blow on Monday when a federal judge temporarily blocked the state from putting it into effect.

The amendment would forbid state judges from considering Islamic or international law in their decisions. Known as State Question 755, the measure passed with 70 percent of the vote during the Republican landslide on Nov. 2, and has generated bitter debate.

1. Oh No!
Oklahoma is in EXTREME danger of being taken over by radical Moslems! They all want to terrorize Oklahoma and bomb it back to the stone ages. As we all know, ALL terrorists are Moslem and NO Christian would EVER think about blowing anything up, especially in Oklahoma!!! :sarcasm:

3. Allowing ANYONE'S religion to make our laws is un-American and just plain stupid.
First step on a slippery slope that ends with the Southern Baptist Theocratic States of America.

Fuck Sharia.

Fuck the Bible.

Fuck the enemies of the First Amendment.

4. Would you be OK with Canon Law or Mormon Laws (polygamy)?
How about Jewish dietary laws applying to restaurants? The Magna Carta? What about the Code of Hammurabi?

If you are OK with Shariah Law, what would be your basis for precluding any other set of laws as the basis for a judge's decision? IMHO, this is a terrible precedent if it stands
