What's wrong with this headline? "2 Million to Lose Jobless Benefits..."
2 Million to Lose Jobless Benefits as Holidays Loom

Extended unemployment benefits for nearly 2 million Americans begin to run out Wednesday, cutting off a steady stream of income and guaranteeing a dismal holiday season for people already struggling with bills they cannot pay.

Unless Congress changes its mind, benefits that had been extended up to 99 weeks will end this month.

Hours before beefed-up benefits were set to expire at midnight on Tuesday, Democrats sought to extend them for another year. But they were blocked by Republican Senator Scott Brown, who said Democrats should have taken time to work out a compromise.

It takes until the third paragraph for the writers to say "blocked by Republicans" and then they frame it with the Republicans blaming the Democrats. There is no "he said, she said" here!

2. It's okay -- see we're going to compromise and extend the tax cuts "temporarily."
And then, when the issue comes up during the election season, we'll cave for good and the cuts will be permanent.

The BEST thing is that we'll also hear about how SS needs to be cut, education needs to be gutted, regulation of business is too expensive and that all of the REST of us will just need to suck it up.

But it's GREAT cause it's bipartisan!

3. The Electorate Has Spoken...
If there was a message delivered on Election Day it's the voting public thoroughly blames the economic messes on President Obama and the Democrats. The relentless antics by the rushpublicans amplified by a corrupt corporate media has erased any memory as to who created these messes...who was in the White House 24 months ago. Hint: It wasn't Barack Obama. Or under whose watch the markets became gambling casinos and the middle class was all but wiped out. It's all Obama's fault now...and this is how this story as well as others will continue to be spun.

The rushpublicans feel they have a "mandate" and even if it didn't happen at the ballot box, the perception is all that matters in the beltway and has boxed in this administration and the Democrats. The only thing they care about right now is how much is "rich"...and eventually cave in on the tax "breaks".

4. At this point, when ever I see the word "compromise" I feel like puking....
Same thing for "bipartisanship". To me they are both code words for letting the repukes get whatever the hell they want...

6. I feel exactly the same way.
It's very sad for this country that we have such willful pretense at governance. I can only come to the conclusion that it's deliberate. And that breaks my heart.
