I Wish I Didn't Care
About people who are going to lose their unemployment benefits and won't be able to feed their children or lose their homes. About the already hungry and homeless. Those who still can't get proper health care or need transplants they will never see. The pensioners who need the COLAs that 'they' want to cut. Those who can't afford decent clothing. People who are brave enough to die for their country but can't say 'I Love You' in public. Endangered species and the environment. Human rights and the ability to live without being spied on. True justice for all and when will we ever end those wars. Seeing the wealth of this country being funneled into the pockets of the few. And so much more.

I wish I didn't think there should be present under trees and peace on earth. And I wish I could stop worrying about all this. But I don't know how so there are moments when I wish I didn't care, at least not so much.

1. Thank you for caring

yah, it might be easier and less painful if we didn't care but it is the caring that makes us human. It also gives us the ability to experience greater joy when the goodness shines through

2. Know just what you mean
I suppose it's the price of being a liberal, having the empathy gene. It just makes me want to cry.

3. I know. why can't we all be heartless bastards like republicans?
or conservadems?

it would make life so much happier not to care about children, the disabled, the old, the infirm.

6. Right?
Go out for a drink or suntan rather than writing a mini rant on a forum.

5. Just Remember "If I Didn't Care" Who will?
If I didn't care it would mean you are stooping as low as a snakes belly (the don't tread on me variety). It would mean you would rather step over a homeless person instead of giving them a $1 for a cup of coffee to warm their bones or sneak them a warm blanket when the homeless police aren't looking. It would mean you would pass by every stores food pantry box without adding to it. It would mean you wouldn't worry or feed or take in those homeless animals which were once loved but now abandoned by owners now out of work and possibly out of their home. It would mean you would concern yourself more with tax cuts then cuts to the sick, elderly, school kids food programs. It would mean you are one of THEM. I am glad you are one of us. We may not have all the answers but we raise the right questions and we don't quit just because we lose.

10. TWO MILLION Americans see their benefits end next month.
Edited on Wed Dec-01-10 11:14 PM by woo me with science
There are NOT two million jobs out there.

We need to bring these people to Washington to stand on the steps of Congress until something is done to help them.

15. May I suggest an easy solution for you?
Join the Republican Party. Then you don't have to care or think about anyone but yourself. There, now wasn't that easy?
