4. I would imagine he's more upset at the loss of revenue
Hosting a World Cup is a major economic boon.

7. We did get cheated out of a bid, and the economic windfall with it
It hasn't gotten that much attention in American sports media, but millions of dollars and man-hours were put into our bid campaign...

8. It is football not soccer.
Hence FIFA.

FISA is the US Government spying on people or the International Rowing Society.

The decision to host a summer football tournament in the desert is wrong.

12. Games were played in the US at 122 Fahrenheit?
Nonsense. That just plain didn't happen.

16. Not at all.
Rarely if ever, will temps be over 105 degrees on consecutive days. Unlike in qatar where average high temps in the summer are; June-106 F and July-115 F (wikipedia).

I'm still looking, though.

I should have put quotes around that.

21. No apology needed...it's interesting that he said it in the first place
The heat is my main objection to Qatar hosting...I can't imagine many fans will travel to the middle of the freakin' desert in the summer to watch a match.

From a fan's perspective, it's a terrible decision.

23. I apologize if I sounded irritable
I AM irritated, but it is FIFA's corruption that caused that, not you. They would award the World Cup to the planet Jupiter if the payola was high enough. I am just completely disgusted with the whole thing right now.

24. No apology necessary! I shouldn't have stated that as fact.
I guess I just see the WC expanding into areas of the world it hasn't been before, as a good thing with regard to sharing cultures to understand each other better. I understand why you're disappointed though, really I do.

14. Agreed.
Guaranteed players will be complaining about the heat.

I am really disappointed though, I love soccer and the world cup. It would have been awesome for the U.S to host it again. Its a shame.

They ran a great campaign and worked the politics of it very well to get the Cup.
