On politics
(Part of a thread but deserves to be it's own)

1. Putting faith in political leaders only is always ill advised. This has been the lesson many a times, but Americans don't know history.

2.- It is time for people to realize that we need MOVEMENT politics. This is not a game, and as long as we treat is as such...

That said what you are seeing is IMPERIAL BEHAVIOR. so anybody who tells you we are not... snicker at them please.

Oh and finally, the US is like any other country. Exceptionalism should start to die. On the bright side we are near the end of this Empire, as it is now consuming the core. All empires do this. Conceivably even before 2012, and I think the CURRENT constitutional Crisis will lead to it.

This whole cat food commission is part of that crisis, and some successor states will have a safety net, others will definitely not.

1. The first thing that needs to be done away with
is the propaganda networks. Way to many people believe lyes to be the truth because of Fox News, and that not only hurts democrats but it hurts everyone. An ignorant populace is the first step toward dictatorship.

2. It is not just FOX...just a point of order.
And I agree with the sentiment but this poison has existed from the beginning of the country.

3. "successor states"? Huh, wat? I guess we should let it burn so it sprouts anew?
1) The US contrary to popular opionion around here isn't going to collapse.

2) Even if it did, the left won't be the ones taking the reigns. If for no other reason then the left doesn't stick together long enough to do much of anything. It'll be the military/fascists that run the show.

3) Any liberal who looks to this as a viable solution is a hypocrite. Anyone willing to turn a blind eye to the massive suffering that a collapse would cause really doesn't give a shit about anyone but themselves.

4. So you think we're that exceptional among nations?
And unlike you I know patterns repeat...and no, who will take over cannot be predicted at this point...but dissolution will not be shocking to students of history.

Whistle by the graveyard all you want but the process is well on it's way to the end of empire...
