1. The Red States have been governed by Conservative Economic
Fundamentalism. Rich get richer and poor get poorer and
middle class vanishing. Businesses are treated like
Gods, needless to say they do very well.

This is what the GOP is working like beavers to bring
to the rest of the country.

2. You're forgetting that taxes are higher in the "blue" states, though.
As a blue voter in a red state, I can certainly attest that I wouldn't mind paying more in taxes for health care, education, roads, libraries, etc., but many of us red staters can pay more in taxes based on the incomes we earn.

It cuts both ways.

3. Taxes are higher, therefore more people get an opportunity
to improve their lot.

It boils down to common good vs individualism.

Look at the quality of life issues in say Texas. They
are always touting their Pro-Business successful state.

Texas is down near the bottom in quality of life issues.
Schools and Education--way down there near 49th.
Health Care for citizens again way down there near the
very bottom. (EVEN SChip for kids)
One of the very highest Poverty Levels.

Go through the list of Red States who have had GOP
rule for sometime and check out quality of life issues.
PRO-Business and high Poverty poor quality of life
ratings. Conservative Economic Fundamentalism
