13. This is the internet version of 9/11. The first international attack on internet free speech.

I can't recall anything similar to this happening.

It's the central governments of the United States, Great Britain, Russia, China and other major powers working in unison to shut down an internet site that ruffles their feathers and exposes their real policies to the general public.

That's never been done before on this scale.

They prefer government secrecy over government transparency.

Actually, since all this crap came down, I quit reading Wikileaks - because everything ELSE has disappeared from the site.

I do have copies of 'cablegate' and 'the afghan war diaries' running in BitTorrent, so that others can still find them, but everything else on the actual Wikileaks site has been displaced by the front-page news.
And for some strange reason, both keep getting blocked by my ISP, although insurance.aes256 has dozens of uploaders, from all over the world.


I miss them. I read stuff there at least once a week.
