Believe it or not...still no snow in southern Ontario, Canada..
It's Dec. 3rd. and we still have no snow on the ground!
I live in the Niagara Peninsula, across the border from Buffalo, N.Y., where they are buried in the white stuff.
On Dec. 1st., our first snow of the season was a light dusting that melted immediately. It's really weird...I look outside and I see green grass everywhere. Can this be related to climate change?
In this part of Canada, our winters would be similar to Chicago's. I wonder if they've had snow yet?

1. I'm on LI. We're going below freezing for the first time this week.
November was warm for the entire month except around 5 days. It's been warmer than usual here pretty much all year.

2. Chicago is supposed to get their first measurable snowfall this weekend, right on schedule
First snowfall of more than one inch in Chicago:

Average Date: December 2nd
Earliest: October 19th, 1989 (3.8 inches)
Latest: January 17, 1899 (1.0 inch)

3. Weather is not directly related to climate change although the severity and duration of La Nina and
El Nino events - which do influence weather - are likely related to climate change and therefore there is an indirect connection.

which is very much like southern ontario in terms of latitude, and it's not unusual for us not to see much snow before the new year really, i mean we have more green xmas's than white

6. I'm about 45 minutes north of Chicago and we've only had flurries so far.
Radar shows a line of white stuff headed our way. Time will tell if it'll amount to anything.

7. No snow here in Ottawa, either
And we usually get it much earlier than Toronto.

All the grass is still green. Just got a huge rain storm on Tuesday.

8. Sunny mornings in Montreal (feels like early Spring) and no snow.
As far as I can recall, it's been like that every year since 1999.

We do not have any real winter seasons like we used to for at least a decade.

9. Up here in Ottawa we have no snow on the ground either. I hope last winter
repeats itself. There was no snow at all after December. It was great to not have to shovel.

Longer we go without it, the better...lol.

Don't worry, by January...we'll have plenty of it.
