Can't we assume that our party's "leaders" will ALWAYS be too gutless to do what's right if they cave THIS time?

4. Well, I never say never
but I know two more years of feeding frenzy will leave them even more powerful than they are now.

If Obama doesn't veto a two year extension or any extension of tax breaks to the rich and corporate, I'll spend my time until 2012 supporting anyone who will challenge him in the primary.

Enough.

7. What you're forgetting is, with all the tax cuts in place, if the economy improves by the election

The GOP will win in a landslide because they'll argue that the tax cuts are what caused the recovery. And the prez won't call them on that bullshit, because he NEVER calls the right on their bullshit and never stands up to them.

It's not even clear anymore that he actually wants to stop conservatism. You could make a strong case that he'd be more comfortable being the liberal figurehead on a center-right national unity government.
