So you say your middle class....
Exactly what is the cut off point in $ between lower class, middle class and upper class?

All the recent discussion about middle class tax cuts has reminded me, and hopefully will remind you that this board does indeed have a

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=230">poverty forum

Now that it is not campaign season, it is time to draw attention to it.

I will admit that after the lounge, it is where i spend most of my time on DU. The issues raised there are a hell of a lot more immediate then whether vanilla politician A will do B for the sake of C. (because we know that they won't, and bringing up the plight of the homeless or those living in poverty does not get votes). So hopefully this will prick a small tingle of awareness of the growing percentage of the population in this country.

Yes it is depressing, but it is a subject that is avoided to much on this board.

I really do not care about how many un-rec's this post gets, it at least made you think for the length it took you to read it, and hopefully a bit longer!

3. The difference between classes varies quite a bit depending on your location in the United States.
It also depends a lot on how many kids you choose to have.

4. Very true, but since our party clings
to a caste class system, it is about to time to address it all.

5. Hmmm.... no one knows where
the cut off line between lower and middle class is?

The existence of a middle class predicates that there is a lower and upper class.

Or are we turning into the type of people who avert their eyes at people on the street who might be suffering from mental illness or those suffering from poverty?

Perhaps they just choose to be "lower" class then? Or perhaps we should recognize that bailing out financial institutions is no substitute for jobs.

I read a thread here today on how President Obama should give a speech, i nearly gagged, how about he starts working on the promises he has made to us in the speeches he has given already?
