Media framing of the Senate tax fight is critical, and it's not looking good out of the gate.
More importantly, how the front page headlines are worded. Here's what's up and visible on front pages currently:

CNN http://www.cnn.com/

Two Senate procedural votes on Democratic measures to extend George W. Bush-era tax cuts for people who are not super wealthy failed today, preventing the measures from moving forward

At least it's worded as a tax cut extension failing, and I like the use of "super wealthy", but why the passive language? Why not "GOP blocks"? There is a party responsible for the failure!

MSNBC http://www.msnbc.msn.com/

Bill blocked to let upper-income tax cuts expire

WTF? This isn't even English! And the focus is on those poor upper-income earners, and doesn't mention the GOP at all. Fuck you, MSNBC!

Fox News http://www.foxnews.com/

Senate Republicans vote against extending the Bush-era tax cuts to only the middle class in a pair of votes Democrats are seizing to paint the GOP as guardians of the rich in political maneuver.

At least this one mentions it's the GOP, but then paint them as defenders against a "political maneuver". I guess I shouldn't be surprised with Fox News...
