Idle money helps no one but the bankers.
That is all.

I keep waiting for one of the copy readers in the MSM to ask a Republic this question. Apparently pigs will fly before that happens.

2. Let the tax breaks sunset.
Then the government will be able to fund the projects that do create jobs.

Rich people don't create jobs and they don't give back.

21. Agree, let them sunset
though not for your exact reasons. The really poor will not be effected. If the middle class does,'t like it, cast blame on the GOPers. That is where it belongs. We cannot afford to borrow more money to give the upper 1.5 percent another gimme.

Employers already get plenty of tax breaks for hiring.

Tax breaks for the rich don't help the economy one bit -- we have seen that, already.

9. Let them hire people, and give them tax breaks according to staffing levels
The masses can idle their money too. Divest from large banks in favor of local banks and credit unions, and buy nothing that isn't essential. Use cash instead of credit and debit cards--less big brother, and fewer fees paid to corporate fatcats.

Make Christmas a bust this year--a huge bust--and watch the DJIA tumble.

Stop being the biggest market for Chinese products, and watch the world economy follow.

Hold the economy hostage. It's what the adversary does.

Yes, it will hurt us too. That's how war is. This is war--class war--and right now the lower class in marching mindlessly into the enemy's fire zones.

We're doing our part.

30. Are you kidding me!? They've created a shit load of jobs, are you blind or something?
Of course I am referring to all the jobs they've created in China, India and other places where they can pay slave wages and shit all over the environment as well.

No more tax cuts for the rich. We need to double their taxes if you ask me and while we're at it we need to also penalize all imports from offshore businesses with high enough tariffs to make it not worth it to outsource jobs. Well, that's my humble opinion anyway.

I also like the idea I saw posted somewhere else yesterday. Lower the retirement age to 55 opening millions of jobs to currently unemployed. I would add if there's any shortfall to fund social security (which I don't believe would be the case), we can get it by cutting defense spending.

31. I'll go one step further. A 4-day workweek for the current 5 days of pay should become the standard
Eight hours a day too. A six-day workweek used to be the standard. I say 5 days of work out of 7 is too much. I bet it hurts productivity and raises health care costs.

Then while he still has a majority in the House have Congress draft an immediate reconciliation on just the middle class breaks.

23. You don't appear to appreciate how that would further enslave & disempower those who
the rich already have under their boot-heal, making it increasingly impossible to "take them back" and that geometric progression of slavery only insures itself in perpetuity until violence happens. So the longer it is put off the more painful and ultimately violent that "take them back" that you are referring to will be.

26. Rich people don't create jobs.
Edited on Sat Dec-04-10 05:09 PM by charlyvi
Demand creates jobs. The idea that shoveling more money in the coffers of the rich will create more jobs is a joke. No one creates a job if there is no demand for the service or product the job produces. If the demand exists, jobs will be created to fill that demand. Put money in the hands of people who have to spend it, or who will spend it, and the jobs will follow. Putting money in the hands of those who control 93% of the nation's wealth already is throwing it in a pig's ass. They already have money to create jobs but they don't. Why? No demand.

If it goes down to 7.8, they'll get their 2 percent.

33. The baby boomers are going to start to retire in 2014 or earlier. So the employment rate
would go up naturally in the near future. But I'm sure the GOP will claim it was tax cuts on the rich that did it. Just like Rudy Giuliani claimed his painting subway cars stopped crime in New York (it was really fewer kids to do crimes that was the reason).

The GOP love love love great waves of myth that can be woven into the narrative of the right.
