Just heard the story about Afghan VP carrying $52 Mil in cash &
and allowed tokeep it. What in the world does somebody spend big money on in Afghanistan? People keep talking about how corrupt the gov't of Afhan is, and that we're paying Billions in bribe money to get the Taliban to let our trucks through, but what in the world do the recipients of all that money sppend it on?

1. as rachel Maddow pointed out,
in the largest American denomination, which is the $100.00 bill, that amount of "cash" would weigh over 1100 pounds. For an individual to be carrying that amount, well, don't mess with him.

2. Some of the news nuts have been phrasing it wrong. The actual report said
"The VP of Afghanistan was carrying $52 million in cash on a private jet, and was allowed to keep it." Obviously 1100lb isn't a problem on a jet. I still want to know where in the world anyone is spending that amount of money in Afghanistan??? From everything I've seen,, all they have there are people with carts selling things along their main roads, and of course their opium wherever you buy that. yes, they obviously canbuy jets and other imported things, but that doesn't seem to be a big business there either.

3. He wasn't bringing the money into Afghanistan. He was caught entering U.A.E. with it
Sounded more like he was trying to smuggle it out of Afghanistan.

I didn't there was $52 million dollars in all of Afghanistan before we invaded and occupied that country.

4. How does he fold his wallet?
How does he carry all that with him? I would think he would have to travel with pallets of money.

I'm not refuting the story. I'm just trying to visualize how he does it.
