Candy Crowley is featuring "The Battle Over the Tax Extensions" and it struck me how totally false that title is.

There is no "battle". The Republicans are slapping and kicking and gouging us and we're asking them to please stop. And, when asked, the Republicans simply deny that they are slapping and kicking and gouging and the MSM says "OK, there you have it"

So, is "Dancing" on tonight?

What I am seeing, is that cable news, in particular, is 80% opinions and propaganda. There are commentaries, and then there is the "news" that comes loaded with spin.

I'm seeing that glass half empty, and someone spit in it.

Sometimes the glass IS "half empty. And, sometimes the bastards steal the glass.

And, some playground wisdom would go a long way in dealing with the GOP: NEVER give in to a bully or run from a fight when you are in the right. A bloody nose is a small price to pay for your self respect and bullies will usually leave you alone once they find out you will fight back.

10. I see. So if Obama let the tax cuts expire and let people go off

unemployment and all other Republican concessions were given up in order to have the upper income people also have their taxes go up, the Republicans would suddenly be respectful of the President. Perhaps they would even vote for single payer (or allow a vote on it to reach the floor). They would finally agree to doing away with corporations and agree to a socialist system. Because of their respect for the President, who would have, in that scenario, beaten them to a pulp even if he had a bloody nose.

Now you see why the playground is a bit too simple a metaphor. And not helpful at all in these discussions.

Forcing the Republicans to vote on unemployment benefits is a completely separate issue and one that most Americans can easily understand...easily...it is their job to vote...no bloody noses...no idiotic metaphors...just a yeah or a ney...and requiring them to do their job is not playground stuff...idiotic ad homonem attacks on those who do not have their pom-poms out waving wildly for the Great Compromise of 2010...now that playful.

12. I realize this plan of mine is too damn genius for anyone else to get, but here it goes.

1. Make the Republicans vote on the unemployment benefit extension as a distinct issue. It passes because Dems have control.
2. Make the Republicans vote on the middle class tax breaks as another distinct issue. It passes because Dems have control.
3. Make the Republicans vote on the Bush tax cuts as a third distinct issue. They go away because Dems have control.
4. When aforementioned Republicans want to vote on 1-3 as a single issue, they get told to go fuck themselves because the Dems have control.

You might need to read that several times to really understand it because apparently it is well beyond the fucking intelligence of the fucking DLC.

little room to comment on what is "too simple". That was right up there with "Then I guess you'd be happy with President McCain and Vice-President Palin!"

I believe you are a good person, posting in good faith, but we simply see things differently. I believe that "righteous indignation" is a powerful force and we are failing to harness it.

13. There seems to be 2 completely different sides here

On CNN, they are trying to play both sides. It is severely tilted towards the right with the older and more recognizable anchors. However, if you watch during the day, sometimes you get a few of the lessor known anchors asking some good questions. Ali Velshi, which is a 'business guy' on Cnn, has been repeatedly saying that not extending the unemployment benefits would be stupid, because that money goes directly back into the economy. He is one of the few, though.
