“This agreement, though long overdue, is an important step forward in the effort to repair our damaged economy,” said Bond, a Republican.
“As we learned today, our unemployment rate is moving in the wrong direction and I congratulate President Obama and President Lee for their efforts. Congress should act quickly to ratify this agreement which Obama Administration officials agree has the potential to create tens of thousands of new jobs.”
As the U.S. economy remains stagnant, Bond has repeatedly urged the President and his colleagues in Congress to open new and expanding markets to U.S. goods and services, warning that competing countries have more than 100 preferential trade deals in the works.
