1. Who ain't playing?
President Obama can allow all the tax cuts to lapse, and the republicans will wear it...

Just think...only 2% of the total population is rich enough to have to pay additional taxes under the President's preference. But 95% of all Americans, among them millions and millions of voters will pay more taxes when they know the President and the Democrats tried every way they could to give them relief.

Republicans refused to deal. They refused to vote to allow the lower income folks to keep a tax break, a group of people that includes enough voters to be a landslide next time around.

After we are all sure everyone in the country knows who is responsible, he can give the lower income folks a tax free day or month or year on their payroll taxes.

The man has a great deal of power that does not require Congress's approval.

He can pardon them all from paying any taxes if he wants.

I'm thinking too many Democrats are offering advice and threats to the man... There's no wonder he keeps his own counsel about what he can and will do.

One thing for certain, republicans will wear the disaster that tax increases will be on 95% of the voters...

tee hee

3. I couldn't figure out how to copy the print....so,until democrats regain control(in 6 years)
signed by all 42 Republican members of Senate

“We write to inform you that we will not agree to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to any legislative item until the Senate has acted to fund the government and we have prevented the tax increase that is currently awaiting all American taxpayers,” the letter read. “With little time left in this Congressional session, legislative scheduling should be focused on these critical priorities.”

more people will be come unemployed, more unemployed will become penniless, more uninsured will remain without health care, more troops and veterans will suffer despite the recommendations of Gates and other Big Brass, security will be compromised...until they get their way.

We had a chance. We blew it.

2. They skipped the part that people with money do not make jobs.
They make money, and if there is demand then they will pay the least they can, and create the minimum jobs to produce some item.

Unless the rich are using 'job creation' as blackmail to control society, if that is the case, they forfeit any say in society, except their vote like everyone else. Not by having something created from nothing, and can not even be said to be earned in many cases, like obscene wealth.

If they can explain how the wealthy make jobs, then they should.

Is it true that many very rich people create shelter companies that are called small businesses?
