Here's how I propose to eliminate the deficit
Any company that produces a holiday commercial with a product/store-related parody of a holiday song should have its assets and all revenue for the past 10 years seized and applied directly to the deficit.

And the people most directly responsible for those commercial should spend the rest of their lives in solitary confinement with no chance of parole.

5. Zombie Bing would be the first to strike down these hackneyed "parodists"
A blasphemy, each and every one of them.

9. Oh....
You know, I completely missed the word "parady" in you post. I'll be forced to agree with you, for the most part. :)

3. Any Holiday parody song?
Edited on Sun Dec-05-10 05:31 PM by RandomThoughts
I like Weird Al, He is fine with me.

Weird Al Yankovic - The Saga Begins
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/sy-23636014/weird_al_yankovic_the_saga_begins_official_music_video/

May the force be with you Al,

Side note, I think he has some fox news relations, saw that on TV, so if anything seize fox news, but I think that guy is pretty creative.

I hope Al reaches Jedi status, if he has not already.

Although I find it odd he left out that Anikan did not end up as Vader but ended up a Light Jedi.

Just being nice, and it is funny.
Really puts the stake in, and finishes off, that other version of the song. Although you can see a few doctrines in it I don't agree with, it is funny.

4. Um.
I don't think that's a holiday parody, nor is Mr. Yankovic using it as part of a holiday-themed commercial.

On a sad note, his parents died not too long ago as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. Not new news, but I only found out about it recently.

7. Not sure about his parents, that is sad.

I do like that guy, and that song does fit in pretty good.

And the idea of not giving up on anyone is in it, and even is nice to people in hardship.

Really great song, sure the emperor at the piano is bad, but it is a parody.

And it is right that fear inhibits many good people.

And C3P0 knows thousands of languages.

:toast: So it can be seen in a good way also.

8. I resent him because he hasn't aged in 30 years
Same with Don Cheadle. What the hell is up with those guys?

And why did I post this reply, knowing that I'm going to get the whole thing kicked to the Lounge?

11. I figure reversing ageing would be easy to produce.
But it would be only given to some people, and used as a lever, as a guess.

Or could be CGI

Or it is a Jedi thing, been thinking on that stuff lately. Spent a few minutes on a couple papers on the topic. Then the next day the topic was on the news, so shrug, who knows.

On a side note about that video, the 'bad doctrine' in that video is toy doctrine, where people are steered or controlled by children in a different existence, that doctrine is false, pretty much proved that, however it is odd that there is a childishness to many stories of the spiritual, like stories of tricksters, and I have seen the child attitude in a few people.

Haven't figured it out completely but I know it is not children buying and selling people, since I have seen them bounce between people, and multiples in people. So the toy doctrine is proven wrong. The childlike attitude could be an effect of fading, or a translation thing, or even a less developed thing. Haven't put that all together because there is a shift from child to more adult, when thought on mostly after sadness. So like I said not sure exactly, but it is like the child thing is a mask, or an incompleteness, or something.

The good things written about that have that attribute, I guess it is to be non threatening and unconditional love appears that way sometimes. Really alot on that topic, even a Twilight Zone episode on it, but toy doctrine or being owned by an outer realm of children, is simply not true by multiple things that do not fit into that.

Old soldiers fade away, I think I know what that means also, but don't think it is always the case.

12. What in the world are you talking about?
What companies? What stores?

Clearly I don't go out shopping enough. That and not having a TV so I miss all the delightful commercials.

13. I've invested in this year's latest new electronic gadget, see?
Edited on Sun Dec-05-10 11:23 PM by Orrex
It pulls these invisible rays right out of the air and--get this--actually converts them into sound waves that human beings can hear!!

Can you imagine such a thing? It's like magic, a way to tap into the ethereal voice of the universe or something.

Whatever will they call this amazing device?!?

15. Well, I don't have cable either, yet somehow I still hear these vile parody commercials
Perhaps via the use of the aforementioned miraculous receiving device.

16. Since I mainly use my miraculous receiving device
to listen to public radio and community radio, my life is, alas, impoverished in some immeasurable way.

Would that we could all move in your delicate shadow, proof against the creeping ills of capitalist society and warmed by a blankets of self-satisfaction.

18. Actually, my life is immeasurably better
without TV, and with little contact with commercial radio. Mainly, I don't get exposed to the frenzied commands to buy and consume, and my relative poverty doesn't feel as onerous.

The real up side is not being exposed to political campaign ads.
