I'm calling BS on Palin shooting anything
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 06:26 PM by HipChick
More proof that America is brain-dead to be soaking up her reality show, its so staged and fake..is it creepy that both Tawd and the father call her Sarah Palin like they just met her for the first time or something..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I am sitting here watching this ridiculous show, and Palin is firing shot after shot at a caribou who is simply standing on the top of the hill as if he either has a death wish, or is too stupid to respond to a loud bang in the middle of the wilderness.

I have never heard of any animal that did not run when people started shooting in its direction.

Five shots later, and after changing to a different gun, Sarah finally makes a kill.

I am sorry, but I call bullshit on this whole episode. Nothing that I am seeing is ringing true to me.

Now they are going through some extra effort, having Papa Chuck shoot his gun at a target, to PROVE that it was the gun's fault that Sarah missed those five shots. Of course we discover that the sight on the gun was off. Can't let the myth of Sarah's shooting skill get damaged by evidence to the contrary now can we?

BTW earlier in the hunt Papa Heath took a fairly big tumble, backpack and all, and the Grizzled Mama could barely muster an ounce of concern. However a few minutes later she fussed and screeched about how cold the water was on her feet like it was the first time she had ever felt creek water in Alaska.

She is all ready for Afghanistan, load her up and send her on her way so she can show us all how to win the war.

She is unstable, to say the least.

3. It was probably a stuffed caribou placed there for the show.
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 06:30 PM by The Velveteen Ocelot
Of course a real one would have taken off. Her gun had no bullets and the caribou was made of papier-mache. The point of the whole stupid exhibition is to show what a real tough cookie Caribou Barbie is, and how much she enjoys huntin' and killin.' This is so her muttonheaded fan base can sit in their parents' basements touching themselves (turning their peckers orange from Cheeto dust) as they imagine huntin' and killin' with that hot grizzly mama.

Sounds like I saved a few brain cells by missing it.

6. In an interview in "Vanity Fair" (October, 2009), Levi Johnston claimed that Palin's never shot a
weapon.

People think that Sarah likes hunting, fishing, and camping, but she doesn’t. She says she goes hunting and lives off animal meat—I’ve never seen it. I’ve never seen her touch a fishing pole. She had a gun in her bedroom and one day she asked me to show her how to shoot it. I asked her what kind of gun it was, and she said she didn’t know, because it was in a box under her bed.

11. I believe it!
I watched a link on another thread of her shooting, and she sure did NOT look like she had done much hunting at all! After every shot instead of her using the bolt to reload, her DAD did it for her, maybe one she actually pulled the bolt back but then seemed not to know hat to do next! It also looked like she had "buck fever". That's when a person, usually someone who has not hunted before, gets all flustered and can't hit what they are shooting at.

Now I did not watch the show, but on the link I clicked to youtube, one comment said when her dad fell he knocked the off sight. If he was carrying her rifle "why"? If she was an avid hunter she would have been carrying her own rifle. Like I said I have never watched the show so I did not see if he was or wasn't carrying the rifle.

From seeing what little I have seen at different links, or previews, she sure don't look like and outdoors person to me at all!

Nothing more, nothing less. Creating a brand. They've been doing this with her for a while.

9. Actually, it was 6 shots.
I replayed the tape to be sure.

That makes her one more shot lousier than five.

And five whole shots lousier than one.

I see her as a lousy shot.

I'm surprised she just didn't stomp off and quit.

Who knows? Maybe she did, but they edited it out.....

10. I guess helicopters increase accuracy
Or she's just totally inept with a gun. It's alright, Sarah, it happens when you have to hunt animals the way we were intended to.

12. Well
I have seen game stand there and look around after the first shot, but not after that many. What got me is that the last shot I saw her take on a youtube video, had it looking like the camera was seeing through the scope when she shot from the second rifle. The Caribou went down that shot, but that had to be edited in, so who knows who really shot the Caribou!

I read a comment on at the youtube link saying that when her dad fell he hit the scope causing it to be out of sight when she shot. Was he carrying her rifle? If she were an experienced hunter I can't see why DAD was carrying her rifle for her. I also saw a preview of the show with her trying to shoot skeet, and she didn't handle the shotgun like someone who had use done a lot in the past. I believe what was posted in another post here about Levi saying she had never use a weapon before.

13. I watched that on YouTube just now
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 07:58 PM by RamboLiberal
They only showed one miss in this video. I gotta find the one with all the misses. But yeah it's BS! She hasn't shot a gun that often. Dad is coaching her like a brand new 12 year old hunter.

I'm not a hunter myself but I grew up with a grandfather that hunted & shoot handguns myself. If Sarah knew squat about hunting rifles then Becker wouldn't be pointing out to her about it kicking. What the hell was she shooting that wouldn't have a kick. Why did daddy call her gun a "varmint rifle"? Smaller caliber? Not appropriate for caribou? And she looked like she knew squat about how to steady the rifle.

Oh and some on YouTube are calling the BS on this. Good point made by this poster. Sister Sarah had her finger on the trigger the whole damn time. She's lucky she didn't have a negligent discharge when she was moving around with that rifle. Of course that would've been edited out!

Absolutely HORRIBLE trigger discipline.

The stupid ignorant idiot has her finger on the trigger BEFORE she has the sights on target. A huge no-no and anyone who has even the most basic understanding of firearms safety knows this.

She is a FRAUD, folks.

Found the longer video - oh good gawd daddy loads and works the bolt for her? Like she's a friggin' 10 year old!

15. I have hunted for years
And I find it very hard to believe she has done much, if any, hunting prior to this PR stunt! Not only was her dad coaching, and I am not sure which one was her dad, but either her dad or the other guy there had to reload the gun for all but once, and that is not something an avid hunter would have someone else do for them. Also her dad was so excited that she to the Caribou after it fell, just like a proud father when their child shot their first wild game, not like a father who had hunted many times in the past with that same child. She is a phony, pure and simple!

17. Daddy was the one who loaded her gun and worked the bolt
Becker was the one who handed her his rifle.

And the fool took 5 shots to figure out her scope was off????

I'n laughing at the Wingnuts who have to know in their heart she's no damn hunter but are defending her by whining about her scope being off while daddy treats her like a 10 year old newbie hunter. They are blind to that.

Imagine if that was a Dem woman hunting. Nugent & his freeper pals would be howling.

Women hunters should be pissed at this poseur!

18. Thanks
I agree it was obvious to anyone who knows anything about hunting, or guns in general, that she knows nothing about either! I also find it amazing how so many right wing men make excuses for her! I don't think she does very well with woman on either side, except the seniors, they seem to fall for her BS.

14. It is hardly inconceivable that someone could have been shooting
off camera... I've yet to find any evidence of credibility about anything regarding Palin, except her ability to skillfully falsify herself.

16. I agree.
The last view I saw on the youtube video I saw was from the view one would see through the scope with the cross hairs on the chest of the Caribou. It was edited and the way she handled the rifle was not like someone who has hunted for years!

19. I learned to use firearms before I could ride a bike w/o training wheels...
and loved it. Made shotgun shells in the basement with grandpa and learned gun safety (first and foremost). Got my big game license at 19 (but didn't deserve it and used it as ID because the reactions I got were fun). I've never shot at a living thing in my life, and I don't think I ever could. But I loved target shooting and (gratefully) learned appropriate respect for firearms. It's so ingrained in me that I react if someone points a watergun at someone else. Guns are designed to kill. Period. But they are fun to try to learn to use accurately under safe/supervised/appropriate conditions...

I'm no expert, but Palin looks really awkward and unfamiliar with weapons - and is an IDIOT for getting as close as she did to a bear with cubs (her own child in *front* of her in the boat. What an ASS). Perhaps the camera lens distorted proximity, but that's no excuse. Unless that was staged - the bear and the Palin's shot separately, the film then spliced together to make it look like they were there at the same time... take your pick: stupid or deceptive (I choose both).
