This is serious question. Which Republican will you support in 2012 since...
.. everyone has thrown Obama under the bus?

Yeah, he kept the middle-class's tax breaks and got another year of unemployment benefits..

..but so what, right?

If WE start beating on Obama, who in their right mind would vote for any Democrat in 2012, let alone Obama running.

So, if you're 'done' with Obama... which Republican do you want to see run? Cause we're gonna enable that if we keep going the way we're going.

3. Stop putting words in my mouth, not what I said...
not what I meant, not what I implied.

It's a damn serious question based on what I've been seeing all day.

This attitude is killing the Democratic support in the country, so either we get it together or we figure out which Republican is the least dangerous.

and it's not "this attitude" that is killing Dem support in America - it's the ACTIONS and INACTIONS of the so-called Democrats in power

51. "If we lose, the worst we get is Obama again." NOT true.
May I offer my state's governorship as an example? From 2000-2004, we had Bob Holden, who was unpopular enough toward the end of his term that "One Term Bob" was becoming a catchphrase. Our now-senator, then-state-auditor Claire McCaskill primaried him, and beat him. And promptly got whomped in the general by Republican Matt Blunt, slasher of Medicaid and shredder of government documents.

A primary challenge to an incumbent, at this high level, is usually only benefical to the opposing party.

support for someone to challenge Obama is going to be tough and, if we're going to challenge him, we have to start soon.

As for whom, I don't know yet. I have ideas. Grayson. Weiner. Trumka (AFL-CIO President). Then we have to convince whoever to go for it, if they're so inclined.

Do you guys just think repeating that meme one more time will be a charm? I mean, if it just annoyed people and pissed them off the first brazillion times, what makes you think it will do anything but annoy people and piss them off the brazillion and first time?

Geez, try to come up with something original. Or at least build a larger repertoire of memes, so these don't get so incredibly repetitive.

9. Ask yourself one LITTLE QUESTION:
Why now?

They knew about this tax cut problem for ten years, AND NOW they're doing something about it? What you don't see is how plain and clear it was. This was highway robbery. They held us up for these tax cuts. They threatened people on unemployment with no benefits extension to get them. This didn't all happen by chance. Or maybe it did, and it's damn peculiar how they just decided to attach it to the unemployment benefits extension.

10. This argument is ridiculous, and is basically how Republicans
elected GWB for the 2nd time. If it's broke, fix it or get a new one. Sorry, but that is the way it is going to have to be. Obama is responsible for his behavior, and we are ALLOWED to be pissed. I am tired of the "if you don't agree you aren't a real Democrat" or "If you don't support him you are electing a Republican". Fuck that. Just fucking fuck that. We got sold a bill of goods, I don't think he deserves to be re-elected, and I am not ashamed to say it. It doesn't make me less of a democrat.

I'll use all caps whenever and wherever I want. I use them for emphasis and I do not play into that netiquette bullshit from 15 years ago. And another thing, when I use the H1 tags, THAT's when I'm screaming!

I worked phones. I walked the streets. Took loads of crap in this Red State Hell. I went to see Obama in person and I told him I trusted him and believed in him. And I voted for him TWICE!

And he BETRAYED my trust and faith at every major fucking turn! And the little bones he's tossed, though chewy, had very little meat on them. So I will say whatever the hell I want to say about him and I don't give a fuck who doesn't like it!

39. First of all, this debate (there was no debate) should have begun months ago. I
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 10:44 PM by Subdivisions
agree with Rep. Weiner who said that Obama should have took his ass on the road to R states and filled stadiums and put his case out there to try to bring some R's to his side.

(A serious question: With all the majorities we have, why haven't the Dems repealed the 60 vote majority?)

Of course I care about the unemployed. Like Weiner said, there should have been a FIGHT of some sort. But there was no fight! NONE! He rolled over like a broken-spirited dog!

Yes, I'm also concerned about the deficit because the deeper we get into debt, the less funds there are for a jobs program, a MASSIVE jobs program on par with FDR's New Deal, but this time not just for existing infrastructure upgrades and new infrastructure projects, but also massive alternative energy and transportation programs. Like Weiner said, the money from taxing the rich could have paid for jobs for those on unemployment and those jobs could have come from this new New Deal WPA.

As for how it would all come together, I don't know. But I know some fight would be required. BUT THERE WAS NO FIGHT! Because OUR PRESIDENT rolled over and gave the MINORITY party and their rich buddies more mansions, property, yachts, and golf vacations, as well as an ESTATE TAX BREAK (read that: ESTATE! Do you have a fucking ESTATE? I don't), and all we got is a few more months of UI, which Obama should have fought for with no compromise for the rich!
