Assange Accuser Worked with US-Funded, CIA-Tied Anti-Castro Group
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 11:49 PM by Ruperto31
Source: Alexander Coburn via Firedog Lake

Yesterday Alexander Cockburn reminded us of the news Israel Shamir and Paul Bennett broke at Counterpunch in September. Julian Assange’s chief accuser in Sweden has a significant history of work with anti-Castro groups, at least one of which is US funded and openly supported by a former CIA agent convicted in the mass murder of seventy three Cubans on an airliner he was involved in blowing up.

"Anna Ardin (the official complainant) is often described by the media as a “leftist”. She has ties to the US-financed anti-Castro and anti-communist groups. She published her anti-Castro diatribes (links at site) in the Swedish-language publication Revista de Asignaturas Cubanas put out by Misceláneas de Cuba. From Oslo, Professor Michael Seltzer points out that this periodical is the product of a well-financed anti-Castro organization in Sweden. He further notes that the group is connected with Union Liberal Cubana led by Carlos Alberto Montaner whose CIA ties were exposed here.

"In Cuba she interacted with the feminist anti-Castro group Las damas de blanco (the Ladies in White). This group receives US government funds and the convicted anti-communist terrorist Luis Posada Carriles is a friend and supporter. Wikipedia quotes Hebe de Bonafini, president of the Argentine Madres de Plaza de Mayo as saying that “the so-called Ladies in White defend the terrorism of the United States.”

"Who is Luis Posada Carriles? He’s a mass murderer, and former CIA agent...."

This excerpt does not do justice to the original, which I recommend reading. Some of it is innuendo, but it can't all be a coincidence. Although Counterpunch made this available in September, Raw Story is running it now. It will be a fresh revelation to many people and deserves to be in breaking news.

3. Charge is RAPE. And he will be arrested and returned to sweden to face the charge
since he has an outstanding warrant.

That is a fact. Do I really need a link to that?

6. Bullshit. Rape only as it is defined Sweden. The only thing they have on
him is sex without a condom. It is a scam to get him to sweden so attempts can be made to extradite him to the US.

As of today his laywers have still not been shown the arrest warrrent.

JENNIFER ROBINSON "We have not the arrest warrant, we have not the evidence, we have not an allegation in English."

snip

JENNIFER ROBINSON "Sweden is obviously seeking extradition but again we say it is completely disproportionate because we are offering testimony that they seek. The Swedish prosecutor was on national television just last night saying that all she wants to hear is his side of the story. We find that incredible considering we have offered his side of the story on numerous occasions and she has rejected those offers."

9. Well, anyone with a passport knows that singapore is not japan
and you follow the rules where you are. The charge is rape, what they have on him will be determined at trial.

Just because he is your new hero does not place him above arrest.

17. the arrest warrant will be forthcoming
Rome wasn't built in a day. Extraditing someone takes a great deal of time and paperwork (far too much as far as I'm concerned). It's only been a couple of days for Christ's sake.

You're still ill informed about the reason for the rape charge, but I've noticed you don't pay much attention to what you don't like to know. Assange's attorneys' ridiculous assertions that Sweden has a whackadoodle law that makes sex without a condom a rape charge (which only the willfully stupid would believe) are doing a very good job. Good for them. It's what they're supposed to do.

And of course their offers for his side of the story have been rejected because Assange has refused to follow the rules concerning where and how he's to be questioned. The accused doesn't get to decide that they can send a prepared statement from their attorney and think that's sufficient. It's the prosecution's right to have a face to face meeting and put forth questions for him to answer. Certainly he can have his attorney with him, but it's ludicious to imagine he's in the position to call the shots and then scream he's being treated unfairly. He'd serve himself so much better if he would just quit balking so much and play by the rules like ever other accused in the world has to. Go down to the damn station and answer the questions and put and end to the whole thing. The more he digs in his heals the more it appears that he has something serious to hide.

21. Except that the whole thing is clearly trumped up as an excuse to get him in jail.
Then extradite him to the US on some even flimsier charge.

20. The charge is also flagrantly trumped up.
Yet you seem to have already deemed him guilty despite the lack of any evidence.

16. you're working overtime smearing the women
and Sweden, and the US government. What's good for the goose and all that. Too bad people can't just look at the situation rationally and logically and not feel a need to smear anyone.

7. Rape? From the article.....
Sweden’s Public Prosecutor’s Office was embarrassed in August this year when it leaked to the media that it was seeking to arrest Assange for rape, then on the same day withdrew the arrest warrant because in its own words there was “no evidence”. The damage to Assange’s reputation is incalculable. More than three quarters of internet references to his name refer to rape. Now, three months on and three prosecutors later, the Swedes seem to be clear on their basis to proceed. Consensual sex that started out with a condom ended up without one, ergo, the sex was not consensual.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Are you seeing how they're trying to tie Wikileaks with Child Porn?
Same as they did with Pirate Bay, eh?

Wikileaks hints at US corruption
And the US Gov falls alll over itself using every corrupt, Black Op 101 trick in it's book.

19. Yahoo is censoring posts about El-Masri ..I mean seriously censoring them!

I must have posted (the same post) 300 times, I swear on all that is holy, and 2 times...2! it came out ....and then disappeared. I swear oon the bible I'm telling the truth.

I never thought that would happen in America..and truthfully, I'm a little scared right now.

Here's what I was posting:

"<b>GOOGLE:
CIA WIKILEAKS KIDNAPPING TORTURE INNOCENT ITALY GERMAN

.....then ask yourself why THAT file isn't in all the 'Top 10 Important Wikileaks!' articles you see online.</b>"

Jesus, freaky.

EDIT:
Here's the Article I was posting on if anyone wants to support a good cause (and is bored?)

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/wikileaks;_ylt=Ai6JqIOW8AXTc1I87hmY19Ks0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTM5cWE3b2JjBGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMTAxMjA5L3dpa2lsZWFrcwRjY29kZQNtb3N0cG9wdWxhcgRjcG9zAzMEcG9zAzkEcHQDaG9tZV9jb2tlBHNlYwN5bl90b3Bfc3RvcnkEc2xrA2hhY2tlcnNzdHJpaw--#mwpphu-container

Be careful. After my post disappeared a person named "Free Speech For All" used my name and said "that story was in the news a long time ago, if you'd quit reading HuffnPuff and WashPost you'd know that."

I guess I'm boycotting Yahoo.
And thinking of moving closer to the Canadian border to be quite honest.
I'm just freaked out right now. Jeez.
