Sigh. Re: taxes
Somebody had to be the grown-up in this situation. It wasn't going to be anybody in Congress. So, alas, Obama took a hit for the team (meaning America). I hated to see him do it, but I understand why he did.

Flame away. That's how I feel.

1. yes, it was extortion. and while i understand why he did it, i fear that
as with being extorted, it will be repeated. the thugs will do this again. and another thing.... the republicans and their msm buddies will make the dems sound weak and somehow the republicans will look like the good guys.

2. Yup. And the hits are landing
like golf-ball sized hail. I don't like this either, but I can't see the practical alternative to it that wouldn't be worse. My only very strong objection is the missing extension for the 99ers. I don't like the high-income cut, but I do like the re-establishment of the estate tax. It should be higher, but at least it's back.

6. Agreed. He did what was necessary. He is not dealing with adults on either side
and he did what he had to do for the people who need the help NOW
