year is up and it is time to re-instate the 2%, republicans will howl "raising taxes on Americans!!". Since they will still be in control (yes, the filibuster is control) they will reach a "compromise" with Democrats and make it permanent and endanger SS. Damn.

This is Grover Norquist's "shrink government 'til it's small enough to be drowned in the bathtub" 101. In the short term, it appears to be a very stimulative idea to get tax breaks to those that make so little that all they pay is payroll taxes and no income taxes. But the movement conservatives are not looking at this in the short term, they see this as pulling the first concrete block that is the SS foundation. Why the hell Obama cannot see past the short term on this I have no idea. WTF is wrong with his administration?
