A nice family shot of our next U.S. Senator from Connecticut!

Notice the son in a Marine uniform? Dick Blumenthal joins the ranks of Dem members of the House and Senate who have kids in the military and share a perspective most Americans don't have.

3. Well, we came too close for comfort with that McMahon woman.
I was tearing my hair out for a while last summer...but thankfully people "got real" and the tide turned against her...

5. Cindy Blumenthal strikes me as being kinda shy.
She is also very serious. I got to know her slightly when she was one of my volunteers at Planned Parentood of CT. She and Dick were always at our fundraising parties in Greenwich and she was a real trouper to work with. Her mother and father who also live in Greenwich were donors to PPC and nice people. I wonder if her dad, Peter Malkin, still owns the Empire State Building...

8. As a development professional at PPC I of course did research on our major donors.
Peter and Isabel were good people as I recall. Very supportive of PPC and its goals. Cindy is a kindhearted woman, IMO, and I think she and Dick will be a strong liberal presence in Washington. It comforts me to think of Dick in the Senate. He's done so much for thepeople of CT. They ought to get down on their knees and thank god we have him as Chris Dodd's replacement.
