'Personal message from Julian Assange'
The judge has denied bail however, this may help with legal fees and other expenses for those who may want to contribute to Julian.

ShareFrom: Julian Assange – WikiLeaks
Subject: WikiLeaks – hope you can help
Date: Saturday, 4 December, 2010, 3:21

Dear ***,
As you may have heard I am facing arrest in the United Kingdom in relation to extradition attempts by Sweden and probably the US.

If this happens I will be stuck in solitary confinement during my defence unless I can raise the necessary funds for bail and representation.

I am reaching out to you in regard to this matter and I am also looking at support to defend our other WikiLeak people.

If you can assist or you know someone who could please contact me here or my solicitor Jennifer Robinson (jennifer.robinson@fsilaw.com +44(0)75 8452 9148 or +44(0)78 3111 5000) of Finers Stephens Innocent LLP."

Hope you can help,

Julian

65. I signed it yesterday. And I meant to ask you, has it been posted
on Reddit? I believe they have a huge readership and many of them are supportive of Wikileaks. I don't know how to get it on there as I'm not a member, but I know eg, that when Keith was suspended, his petition was posted there and got a lot of support. It has only 75 sigs right now. It really does need more exposure. I wonder if Turborama knows how to get it on Reddit?

Too bad they don't have a 'share' button at the petition site.

37. Fees to cash foreign money orders can be high
Edited on Tue Dec-07-10 05:35 PM by Autumn Colors
Unless you can get an international postal money order somewhere, the fee to them to be able to cash or deposit a regular money order from a U.S. bank might be as high as $25. (I'm not sure if all U.S. Post Offices sell international money orders anymore.)

46. Yes, that is the best way to donate.
I'm sure our gestapo agents will be watching that address, so people should wear gloves, don't put a return address on the outside, and sign with a phony name. IF they don't want to be discovered donating to help keep the press free.

I will donate, probably by snail mail in cash since they will probably freeze any accounts he may use.. The more people who do it, the less chance they have of stopping it.

In fact, a call should go out for millions of people around the world to send money to that address and flood it for days or weeks so that they cannot keep up with it.

Does anyone remember when Bush asked for people to call Homeland Security with tips about people they thought looked suspicious, and a call went out for people to call the number and so many did with silly stories, they had to shut it down, temporarily anyhow.

Another way to help would be to send money to his lawyers for his defence.

I have faith that people around the world won't be deterred by the U.S. fascist agents looking to put them on a no-fly list. Fewer and fewer people want to come here anyhow.

Fear should

7. Hacking
Hacking In 1987, after turning 16, Assange began hacking under the name "Mendax" (derived from a phrase of Horace: "splendide mendax," or "nobly untruthful").<19> He and two other hackers joined to form a group which they named the International Subversives. Assange wrote down the early rules of the subculture: "Don’t damage computer systems you break into (including crashing them); don’t change the information in those systems (except for altering logs to cover your tracks); and share information".<19>

In response to the hacking, the Australian Federal Police raided his Melbourne home in 1991.<21> He was reported to have accessed computers belonging to an Australian university, the Canadian telecommunications company Nortel,<19> and other organisations, via modem.<22> In 1992, he pleaded guilty to 24 charges of hacking and was released on bond for good conduct after being fined AU$2100.<19><23> The prosecutor said "there is just no evidence that there was anything other than sort of intelligent inquisitiveness and the pleasure of being able to—what's the expression—surf through these various computers".<19>

Mark Stephens comments in the Financial Times on the Warrant for WikiLeaks founder.

Mark Stephens, lawyer for Julian Assange, founder of the WikiLeaks website, hit back against Sweden’s prosecution service after an international arrest warrant was issued against him in connection with a rape investigation. Mark accused Swedish prosecutors of an “ambush” after ignoring his client’s offers to co-operate. Mark said: “I’ve worked with third world countries and authoritarian regimes where there has been more of an attempt at a fair process." Click here to read the full article.

52. The work of Wikileaks goes on. I don't think there's anything cagey
here. The releases have to be processed before they're released. Plus, the work has been disrupted nearly every day for a week.

Wikileaks was criticized for not redacting some names in the warlogs. In response, they seem to have changed the way they screen stuff before it goes up. They aren't going to let anything "out" willynilly. They never have done that that I know of, any way.
