Can people just pay tribute to Elizabeth Edwards as a human being...
...and leave the sorry situation with John out of it? Both Wolf Blitzer and Chris Matthews had to bring him up while talking with reporters who knew her. At least Kelly O'Donnell shut Matthews up by pointing out that right now, it's not about John.

And Wolf wasn't much better. When he announced her death at the top of The Situation Room, he rehashed the death and the affair all in one breath.

Just strikes me as disrespectful and an insult to someone who lived her life well, especially at the end.

1. Wolf and Chris are asses. Elizabeth was class.
Wold and Chris are whores. Well paid whores who know how to please the client. But whores nevertheless.

2. I thought the way she faced her husband's infidelity spoke to who she was as a person

3. News media types aside, some of us are angry that she should have

been frustrated and tormented the way she was, when she had so many gifts to offer. It strikes me, at least, as being just terribly unfair and unjust.

However, your point is well taken and I accept it. This IS about Elizabeth and her contributions to the fight for equitable health care in this country. Yeah, I'm upset that she had shackles on her due to her marriage situation, but NOT because she was some kind of martyr.

What I am trying to say is that she was an individual in her own right and deserved better...what happened made it just that much harder for her. She certainly used her position to advocate for single payer health care and I have undying appreciation for her for that stand! She used her own bully pulpit well.

Brava, Elizabeth, brava...

4. Nope they absolutely will not do that.
For that reason I am not watching any TV tonight; I don't want to see her life tabloided again by the "news media."

5. Chris Matthews is the most superficial pundit on National television--death and humanity are beyond
his paygrade.
