My prediction for the New Year should the tax cuts pass. What's yours?
Obama has played into the GOP's "Starve the Beast" strategy.

Should these tax cuts be passed, look for the GOP to cry bloody murder when the national debt ceiling needs to be raised. Look for someone like Rand Paul to lead a government shutdown. Afterwards, they'll be no more checks in the mail for the unemployed.

1. Boehner met with the terrorist anti-choice guy Randall Terry last week
We're going to be in a shitstorm -- which will be attacked first? Women's Rights or Social Security?

Repukes will suddenly start screaming for austerity measures, etc.

4. I'm not sure if they'll do that. After all, to them tax cuts don't add to debt
But they'll trash the resulting deficit. "It's all your fault, you tax and spend democrats!"

3. You could be right about the debt ceiling.

5. I'm unsure. I called my representatives today and urged them to vote against it.

But I haven't heard much on the internal support for the cuts. I think it comes down to Pelosi and Reid.

6. Hey they are already talking about the debt...like they really care.
“We cannot add on something like a year of unemployment benefits.” Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN).

“If we’re going to extend the unemployment insurance beyond its normal level, let’s at least pay for it and get this nation off its ruinous spending path.” Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX)

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) — the de facto leader of the Senate GOP and a past opponent of jobless aid — told National Review shortly before the deal was struck that the inclusion of unemployment benefits could influence his position. “The question is: At what price are you buying?” he said.

“I would definitely look at how they were going to cover the expense of extending the unemployment …. I firmly believe we need to live within our means.” Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.)

Arkansas GOP Rep.-elect Steve Womack said “There’s a limit to just how much this country can afford,” and went on to say that enough was enough when it comes to jobless benefits.

Their messaging machine is on point.
