Denver police survive tense hours-long standoff with 8" toy robot
Edited on Wed Dec-08-10 12:14 PM by Skinner
Denver police narrowly survived a tense hours-long standoff with a toy robot described as "troublesome" by the Denver Post.

A terrified Denver resident who spotted the robot making trouble on the base of a pillar supporting a footbridge near 20th and Wazee streets reported the terrifying toy to Denver police. Denver police, after determining that the toy robot looked really scary immediately began closing off streets for miles around. With the robot looking on, police began to encircle it at a distance with yellow police caution tape, presumably signalling to the robot not to move beyond the plastic barrier.

Denver resident Justin Kent, 26, apparently was not convinced of the danger causing him to have to take a detour. "Are you serious?" he asked, responding to an explanation by police who blocked him from proceeding down 20th Street. "I can't believe it. This is ridiculous," Kent said as he drove away. Meanwhile, traffic began piling up at the intesections of cordoned-off streets around the epicenter of toy robot terror.

25. Thanks for making it a point to point out my spelling/typo errors. I've been
ill and taking medication and it was late and I was trying really, really hard not to make any mistakes.

I hope you feel better having found this error. Are there any other spelling or grammatical errors you'd like to bring to the public's attention?

28. Since I didn't click on the link,..
there was nothing to determine what was parenthetically inserted into the story by you in the original post.

So, as far as I knew, what you posted was someone else's work.

9. "I took a little literary license..."
Like this? '"That's odd," the spokesman said. The spokesman didn't describe the actions of police as being odd."

It's been getting a little "heavy" here lately, with so many walking around with chips on their shoulders! THANKS, I NEEDED that!
