That Dog Won't Hunt - Obama has declared himself powerless
LBJ popularized the phrase "that dog won't hunt" to the vast majority of Americans not living in the South. The phrase basically means that an idea or person simply will not work out as intended. It or they cannot do the job needed to be done. In the case of a hunting dog, one that won't hunt is useless in that capacity and will have to be replaced.

Yesterday Obama declared himself all but powerless to effect change in Washington. It is deeply ironic as his campaign was defined by the word "change". Yesterday the President unknowingly offered to his base and his enemies that he is very much susceptible to being bullied. He proclaims he does not want to fight because someone may get hurt. If history has taught humanity anything, it is that bullies do not stop because they are met with good arguments and intellect. They stop, or at least modify their actions, only when they find themselves in a real fight. Obama happily gives up his lunch money and enters the schoolhouse with his nose unbloodied only to give up his lunch money again the next day.

The fact is that Obama is a dog that appears incapable of hunting and Democrats should begin to wonder aloud about getting one that will.

Cheers!

8. What? Obama isn't playing your political game?
And he cares more about getting things done and this concerns you. Why is this? Is this because you want Obama to look good in 2012 politically? I don't see that's what your after. I think you just like to find fault with Obama.

11. It is the things he wants to get done that are so disturbing.
I agree with Keith Olberman on this, "The Principle is more important than the man" Progressive Taxation is a very Core Democratic Principle. To give it up just so you can say you did something is simply not acceptable to many Democrats.

14. Gee, tax cuts for all.
Oh my... what could they have done with all this tax money? Maybe start another war or extend one? So you don't care about some being thrown on the streets?

17. Huh?
That makes no sense. Our expense is in our tax cuts not the deficit.

Imminent tax cut/federal unemployment benefit extention deal will cost more than the Stimulus

Here is the math according to MSNBC:

Cost for extending Bush tax cuts two years: $800 billion
Cost for extending federal unemployment benefits one year: $60 billion
Making Work Pay tax credit extension: $62 billion
Extension of college tuition tax credits: $8 billion

12. If 'getting things done' means this ...
(Posted by still_one) -

First the administration appoints a committee who says we should cut the deficit by going after
social security, medicare, home mortgage deductions, etc.

Then the administration compromises with the repukes to increase the deficit by a trillion dollars over two years

What is wrong with this picture

I say get your fucking hands off us, Mr President! I don't want you to do shit!

24. That is in essence what I said yesterday when I called the White House
I told the staffer that I wanted the Pres to come to a full stop. Everything he is doing is making things worse and is going in the wrong direction (rw economic policies). I said that if they attack social security we will be in the streets, and it won't be the nice orderly protests with permits that we have been doing against the war.

He knew how to brawl with those bastards. The only way to deal with a bully is to knock him on his ass a time or two.

23. Bullies also don't stop after they have hurt someone -- they step up their bullying.
And in this case, it is the American People, present and future, who have been hurt.
