the revenues were dedicated to creating jobs and moving people off of the unemployment rolls to them. Whether it be to expand railroads or develop new industries or shore up small business, I would agree to that since those with wealth have failed to create jobs for the nation. If they will not actively do it in the private sector, it should be taken from them and done in the public sector. That would be a tradeoff worth having.
