Would you wear a onesie? outside? To a sporting event?
Forever Lazy: Is an adult onesie the new Snuggie

OK, people. I think we're taking comfort a bit too far here.

First it was the Snuggie, essentially a blanket with sleeves. Lazy? You bet. But not quite as bad as adult-sized onesie pajamas.

Enter Forever Lazy, a company that makes exactly that. The "full-body lazy wear" is quickly becoming one of the most-talked-about items of the holiday season, partly because singer Fergie is apparently getting one for everyone on her shopping list.

Forever Lazy has a TV commercial (just like the Snuggie) that features oh-so-comfortable customers wearing the product at a sporting event (before-game tailgating included), sleeping in front of the TV and reading in easy chairs. "Hands and feet free," the on-screen text says. The commercial points out that the garment has zippers that allow easy access during trips to the bathroom.

This is a slippery slope, comfort lovers. And if it doesn't stop here, these could be the top-sellers for Christmas 2011.

25. Isn't it against the rules to call critics of Obama "Obama bashers"?
Why can't you accept legitimate criticism of your favored candidate? Why can't you reply with substantive responses to such criticism? Why are you threatened by it?

union jack things.

(I can't believe we're discussing this. :7)

12. My students.
They already wear their flannel jammies and fuzzy slippers to class . . .

I think I'll go stock up on binkies and hand them out to those who show up wearing these things.

went to the local public high school. They had hair down to their shoulders. One of them was called out in study hall "miss, you can't wear pants to school". :7

to be allowed to wear bell bottom pants - not jeans, of course. Up to that point girls could only wear dresses or skirts, no pants. We won! The following week I wore my favorite pair of purple and pink paisley bells. They had a zipper up the bottom of the leg that enclosed an additional 6 inches of fabric - making the bell the approximate diameter of Jupiter . . .

Made it to lunch, then unzipped the extra fabric in the lunch room. Unfortunately, I did it before I had fetched my tray of mystery meat, boiled veg, and chocolate milk.

Of course the giant bells wrapped themselves around my ankles like kudzu and I went arse over tea-kettle (mystery meat, by the way, is astonishingly resilient - it bounced, intact, at least three or four times before landing almost at the feet of the teacher on lunch-room duty . . .)

I suppose I shouldn't complain about pjs and fuzzy bunny slippers . . . :)

edited for clarity

Girls could wear long pants, if they wore a dress or skirt over them. I remember looking at the girl sitting next to me who was dressed like that, and thinking how odd it looked. By the next year, the school district agreed to drop the dress/skirt requirement and allowed girls to wear long pants without further embellishment.

Oh, and will you tell those damn kids not to walk on my lawn on their way home from school?

I guess I'm getting old (but I HATE that trend, especially when adults do it!)

5. I did see a Snuggie at a college football game,
At least it was in the proper team colors. So yeah, I imagine that there will be people wearing these out in public. But then again, people have been wearing PJ's out in public for years as well.

 Meh, nothing to get worked up over.

if you go early to Starbucks or the grocery store nearby. I certainly don't dress up and a baseball cap hides my "bed head" but, sheesh, I do at least get dressed & swab a bit of deodorant on... even when I am just going out to walk the dog.

Usually worn by tradesmen like mechanics and such. And astronauts.

47. one of my old roommates wore these for riding his motorcylce in the winter
I'll never forget that one night he came home after driving in the freezing cold and his hands were so frozen inside his gloves he couldn't get his key out to open the door or get his helmet off, and he stood there banging on the door with his helmeted head so someone would let him in. I had to get his helmet, gloves and everything else off till he thawed out. Worst part was he didn't take a piss before leaving work... don't ask.

I feel weird going to the store in my gym clothes sometimes. I mean, it's not like I normally get dolled up to go out, but sheesh...things like this (and the snuggie, and adult footie pjs) creep me out.

I'd much rather warm just my body than warm the air in my house to the same comfort level. It would be easier to walk around in than a Snuggie.

If they DO show up in one, I hope they have enough sense of court decorum to at least wear a tie.

Or at the VERY MINIMUM, at least no "My Pretty Pony" bedroom slippers.
