If you lost hope, read this...
Hope never abandons you; you abandon it.

In all things it is better to hope than to despair.

Never let go of hope. One day you will see that it all will finally come together. What you have always wished for will finally become reality. You will look back and laugh at what has passed and you will ask yourself... 'How did I get through all of that?

When you say a situation or a person is hopeless, you are slamming the door in the face of any chance for success.

When things are bad, we take comfort in the thought that they could always be worse. We can find hope in the thought that things are so bad they have to get better.

Hope is faith holding out its hand in the dark.

Hope is not a dream but a way of making dreams become reality.

But in the mud and scum of things
there always, always something sings.

2. Thank you! These days I am not so much without hope as just tired
Some days I feel as though it is not worth fighting for the issues I care about, especially when the media is trying to convince us that our leaders are not fighting for anything.

9. No, but they are all repeating the same talking points and it gets old
When I switch among all the various news channels (except for Faux, which is blocked on my TV) and hear the same crap with the same phrases from them all.

It just emphasizes how all the news sources go by the same basic play book with only minor variations in their approach.

19. I keep hoping, but the older I get, the less I believe it will happen
People did not believe Nixon was a crook and re-elected him. Reagan. George H. W. Bush. George W. Bush.

If the media turn Obama into a Carter which is what they seem to be doing ("failed, ineffective"), I don't think I will have the energy to give a shit about politics for the rest of my life.

3. I much prefer...
"Hope is the denial of reality. It is the carrot dangled before the draft horse to keep him plodding along in a vain attempt to reach it."

I'm not saying that it's bad to have hope, but that we should remove the carrot and move forward with sight unhindered.

32. Being upset with him about how he has let us down
does not mean I want him to fail.

I am upset with how he's conducting the People's business.

If he fails, then there is no hope.

I respect much that he has done.

That's all.

34. but how can he win when people so easily give up hope?
He always said during the campaign he needed us, that he can't do it alone. He said it would take a long time and a lot of patience and especially set backs.
He talked about setbacks and disappointments a lot.
He did say these things, I remember clearly. He said them often.

but people are so quick to just give up and start belly aching.
we don't actually deserve him. we are bratty children with snot running down the noses

LeMaire was a great coach for that, but never had the goalie or D talent he had in New Jersey to make it into the whole package. All I can say is that this Bruins fan never takes the Wild for granted. Always a tough game.

12. Emily Dickinson:
Hope

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

14. As the world heats. As Fox dumbs down the nation. As the world laughs.
As the president moves further away from us; waving goodbye from the distant horizon.

Hope never abandons you; you abandon it.

Normally I accept encouragement, but now it just seems silly. Thanks for trying.

Hugs
