First they Came for Assange,
First they Came for Assange, but it was not me, so I did not speak up.
Then I had no idea at all of who they came after until they did come after me.

2. Don't collect classified material without a clearance to do so, then.
It's pretty simple, really.

3. Name Assange's crime.
Edited on Thu Dec-09-10 11:21 AM by katsy
Amazon is going to sell the leaks in book form for their kindle product.

Tell me Assange's crime again?

Can we arrest the staff at the NYT now?

Let's go back and make sure we re-prosecute the real criminals that leaked those classified files: Watergate.

Let's shoot all the messengers and let the powerful play their empire games in peace, okay with you?

And let's shoot the whistleblowers too because we wouldn't want anyone coming across this criminal shit these assholes who rule over us commit to make that judgement call that MAYBE, just MAYBE, something is really fucking wrong in classified playland! Maybe we should not release memos that describe military contractors that like to party with little boys in afghanistan. Hopefully they buy these babies dinner before they fuck them. :sarcasm: :sarcasm: As if that needed to be stated. The color, blood red is so appropriate here.

MAYBE that whistleblower is just trying to save his own fucking sanity by disseminating all the filth, murder, illegal crimes, theft, back room deals, crimes against children and humanity, to world as a way of putting a stop to this shit. Because if it were me, and I saw all that I would do the same. Some rules are crimes against humanity. To hide crimes against humanity is wrong.

I happen to think we are fucking stupid to allow any of this shit to happen. They are playing games at the expense of 99% of humanity and I for one want them stripped of their ability to do that. I want a non partisan panel made up of real fucking people, albeit the best and brightest, maybe nobel lauriates to make judgements of what should be classified or not. I know I'm an unreasonable lefty who doesn't really have anything figured out except one thing: Our leaders are bad fuckers who shouldn't be making judgements about war or foreign policy or matters of life or death as pertaining to us or our children. They suck as people and professionals. Most of them would be behind bars if there were any justice in this world.

Simple really.

4. I have no problem with whistleblowers who leak the stuff of actual
crime and wrongdoing. But there's always a price to pay for taking something that isn't yours, even if you merely give it to someone else.

8. Our perceptions differ.
If my government is guilty of crimes, I want them prosecuted. They act on the behalf of the American people. The information is ours. They don't own it. We do.

This isn't grand theft auto. The info belongs to the governed.

Washington needs a clean sweep. All of them save those who understand that we are the government and they work for us.

11. "Always a price to pay". Not really.
You wrote: "there's always a price to pay for taking something that isn't yours..."

Not really. For example, banks can foreclose on homes without the proper legal rights, some companies can steal pension finds that people paid into all their lives, and investment bankers can steal peoples' savings by investing their money in worthless derivatives.

In none of these cases is there a "price to pay." Quite the opposite, actually.

12. Exactly.
Then when we take what's ours they cry "thieves". Documents produced by the government belong to the public and that's that.

These documents do not protect national interests. They protect debauchery and theft and warmongering criminals from being exposed.

Releasing classified info like this isn't theft. It's justice in action. Classified material should not hide crimes.

13. yes mark him a good socialist

Yes might as well make the Nobel Peace prize even less honorable. I mean honor a hacker? Next they will be honoring spammers?

The man is not an American. His site posted illegally obtained US government documents. The objective is to make America look bad. Its the mission of Socialists to discredit this country. There is nothing peaceful in that mission.
Its an attack against this country and its citizens in general.

16. Truth and it's defense has no citizenship or ideology
Somewhere, Drew Pearson and Jack Anderson who had a column known as 'The Washington Merry go Round' are looking down at him, and are proud.

I am too.

9-11 was an inside job, and LBJ was part of the conspiracy to muder JFK.

We don't know what truth is any more in this country, and so I don't take your whine too seriously at all.

17. Right then.
And saddam hussein caused 911.

And the muslims want to kill all our blond babies because they hate us, and me personally I heard, not because we fuck around in their business and take their resources.

And the mexicans want to take our jobs and the state of California for their own. I think I heard they may cause the next 911.

And life sucks in the socialist democracies of Germany, Norway, Iceland & France. The people are causing great grief to their masters, their betters, their superiors.

Only the capitalist tax cuts and outsourcing will cure all our pain.

Capitalism worked so well here.

And a free society need never know what their superiors, their BETTERS, their leaders, are doing behind their backs.

Go chase your ghosts. Hide under your bed if you fear these demons. Diversity is not my enemy. Parroting bs hatred and slogans have no place with me.

pffffft.

15. Just another day, Finally they came for a blond-haired Aussie concerned about human rights
Edited on Thu Dec-09-10 12:05 PM by Catherina

"Remember the old saying, now updated that "first they came for the Jews, and as I was not a Jew I did not speak out. Then they came for the communists and as I was not a communist, I stayed silent. They then came for the young daughter of Christians and as I'm not a Christian, I did nothing. They then came for the Muslims and as I'm not a Muslim I also kept quiet, thinking they must have all been terrorists. Finally they came for a blond-haired Aussie concerned about human rights, and as I'm not concerned with human rights issues, I did not want to get involved. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me."
