Now we are caught in this zero sum game. No side will win and no side will compromise.

You've (congressional democrats) had 10 years to prep for this. You knew this tax bomb was a Bush trap and you all fell for it. No more excuses.

It wouldn't have been that hard to point out that tax cuts on the first 250,000 is a tax cut for everyone (on their first 250,000). Instead we called them tax cuts for the middle class. Take their damned frame away from them. Instead the republicans cried crocodile tears about fairness. It gave them cover and an opportunity to run the clock out.

Or maybe it would have been prudent to have been proactive and proposed an entirely new tax regime in the house and Senate prior to the election. Quit worrying about some centrist's election woes and do what is right for a change.

Instead we have gotten where we have gotten by weak leadership at all levels of our federal democratic party. The party was routed because of its failure to lead, not just this President...the f'n party leadership failed us on this issue. The right has been gearing up for this for a long time, they have some f'n scary tax proposals sitting on their shelves just waiting to be implemented. Where are our alternatives and why haven't they been put to the floor?

I am not going to defend Obama on this one, but I'm sure as hell not going to sit here and pretend that these Congressional Democrats deserve a pat in the back for what they did today. We moved beyond a day late and a dollar short on this shit when the first week of November hit.

They better not go home for the holidays until they fix the mess they made. Obama tried to clean up using a dirty mop. Wring the fucker out and get to work. Your free pass is about to expire.

I'm signing off for a while. I'm just too f'n mad to even care if any reads this.

1. True, Sir: A Calamitous Error Not To Hold This Vote In October
The failure is not President Obama's alone.
