The future of tax policy

The very minute the Republicans get the Bush Tax Cuts renewed they will begin to claim that they need new tax cuts and that the Bush Tax Cuts were not really tax cuts at all, they were just continuation of existing policy. More cuts will be demanded, and more concessions will be made. They will never be satisfied, the argument will never be won, all they want on the face of this earth is for earnings from labor to be taxed and rents on capital to be tax free.

1. Another thought, with the reduced revenues because of the

tax cuts for the super rich, they are reaching their goal of drowning the government in a bathtub.

2. Very true. For a Democrat to make this kind of policy is to start an ominous slide.

I imagine a 25% tax rate for the rich in the next decade, which will mean even more poverty and crumbling infrastructure.

but defense spending...
