Why people are angry and afraid about this?

And I know my husband is really pissed, so I will use him.

He is a 20 + veteran of the Navy... good news, he is using his GI Bill now.

But apart of that, he feels that the country used him and spit him out, like many vets he is not alone.

He works at the post office part time... has been working at the post office part time for three years and come January we are not sure whether he will have a job, or enough hours to even justify it.

Why? the postal service is doing all it can from a management level to force people out, by making them quit.

And that is just a microcosm.

My BIL has been out of work for over five years now and gone back to school.

This is why people are pissed.

Those who have jobs are lucky in a way but they see these very rich people about to get more tax cuts that we know are not stimulative, while the rest of the nation remains a hostage to a philosophy that has failed, miserably, a few times before. Yet we need to try it again even when it failed already in our lifetimes TWICE. (Reagan and 2008)

That is why people are pissed.

To be honest I am scared of the future and while I never bought the hope and change crap, I knew that usually electing dems is better for my pocket book.

Well as I asked the President in a letter I sent... what the hell do Dems stand for anymore?

And for those saying this is about race... wake up and smell the coffee, this is about us and them... and this will not end well if they, the ones in power, do not realize what is going on. When over 80% do not want the upper two percent extended, but they do it anyway, well like the public option, it reveals the sham this has become.

I heard this first hand.... so I can back that up!

3. I hear ya.... hang in there
only a crazy person wouldn't care to understand. So, don't let the crazy drive you crazy. You and the ones here sticking up for the little guys are the sane ones. You care, the rest don't.

5. I don't mean it here
I mean in the USPS....

Things are that bad there.

We are frankly surprised, and the BS did not stop (same shit happened in the 1980s) until there were several shootings in post offices.

In fact, remember the one in TN not too long ago they claimed was a robbery? People in the postal service don't buy that for a second. It was more like a cover up of the real thing, a postal worker took his rage on managers.

No, nobody is asking for violence, just pointing out how bad it is.

7. Oh, I knew you weren't advocating anything
and I did know what you meant by postal. People snap when they know they are about to lose it all. I've read about instances and it's a tragedy.

4. We need to speak plainly
about the fact that, yes, we are in a class war, and the majority of the people are, at this point at least, on the losing side.

This was what struck me most about what Bernie Sanders said today, although I don't think he used the term. But we all know it's true, when the majority in government seems to be fighting to make the rich richer while more of the rest of us are struggling and more uncertain with each passing day whether or not we'll be able to survive.

I don't know how we get the message out, but I know we need to do it.

15. I listened to some of Bernie today, he made a lot of sense IMO. And
when the gov. has to fight so hard to tell us it is good, then you know something is wrong. I have a lot of trouble believing the taxes will go back up in 2 years, and the SS will be increased in 1 year. At the high end it will just be more money in their pockets and much in investments, not in goods, services or hiring.

The Left Right Paradigm is Over: Its You vs. Corporations

By Barry Ritholtz - September 27th, 2010

http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2010/09/you-vs-corporations/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheBigPicture+%28The+Big+Picture%29

"Every generation or so, a major secular shift takes place that shakes up the existing paradigm. It happens in industry, finance, literature, sports, manufacturing, technology, entertainment, travel, communication, etc.

I would like to discuss the paradigm shift that is occurring in politics.

For a long time, American politics has been defined by a Left/Right dynamic. It was Liberals versus Conservatives on a variety of issues. Pro-Life versus Pro-Choice, Tax Cuts vs. More Spending, Pro-War vs Peaceniks, Environmental Protections vs. Economic Growth, Pro-Union vs. Union-Free, Gay Marriage vs. Family Values, School Choice vs. Public Schools, Regulation vs. Free Markets.

The new dynamic, however, has moved past the old Left Right paradigm. We now live in an era defined by increasing Corporate influence and authority over the individual. These two “interest groups” – I can barely suppress snorting derisively over that phrase – have been on a headlong collision course for decades, which came to a head with the financial collapse and bailouts. Where there is massive concentrations of wealth and influence, there will be abuse of power. The Individual has been supplanted in the political process nearly entirely by corporate money, legislative influence, campaign contributions, even free speech rights."

10. That paradigm shift
which is far from complete... is part of the trends I have been pointing to. The same ones I have been accused by a few of being a fantasy.

13. Yep, I agree with the trends you have been pointing to. Other than observation,
I can feel it in the air, and it's not the 60's feeling, this is far far worse. I find it disturbing and if so it will not be pleasant. I've been around too long not to agree.

14. Yep it is almost electric
worst case and this is absolutely worst case... things did accelerate today (Twilight Zone moment at the WH) and this will be the last really peaceful holiday season for a while.

That is absolutely worst case. There is no way the people inside the belt way missed that, or for that matter foreign leaders.

16. We need our post office

In all my 60+ years, I have never been unhappy with the service. I hope I am not the only person who realizes the post office fulfills a needed service. When you pay a bill or mail a card, who routinely uses FedEx?

I am saddened to hear of the troubles with the Post Office. What will be the outcome? Service from 6 days to 5 days? Are TPTB trying to shut down the post office so we have to use FedEx to enrich somebody's greedy pocket?

17. Are they still planning to cut back on Tuesday delivery?
Frankly, I would much rather have a package delivered by the mail carrier than the delivery companies. If I'm not home, I know I can go pick it up at the PO on my day off. With Fed Ex and UPS you have very few options if you miss delivery. Their center is open for three hours in the evening, and they don't deliver Saturdays, so if you work a day job M-f you're screwed. USPS is much more convenient for the working person who lives alone.
