I knitted a zombie doll

My mom gave me a bag of leftover yarn. So I decided to knit folksy looking dolls. Then I have this zombie festival coming up in the fall where I'm going to sell my art, so I decided to make them zombies. This one is already claimed, I'm sending it away today.

I found a pattern in an old book that called them "golliwogs" which I thought was a cute name because it sounds like "polliwogs" but then I found out it's a racial slur (you gotta be careful with those old books!) I'm glad I didn't call them "golliwogs" in public!

2. really easy
it's just a garter stitch and you can make it all in one piece. Start at the leg, when that one is finished add another leg, knit it up, add more on each end for the arms, bind off when your arms are wide enough, then when you've knitted to the top of the head, just keep going and do the same thing but backwards. Stuff and sew and put the face on!

5. The book
is the Big Book of Soft Toys by Mabs Tyler 1972. I got it at a church rummage sale. The pattern I'm using is my own creation and a very simplified version of the ones that appear in the book, because I have to make A LOT of them. I made them smaller, too.
Here is what I do: Cast on 10 and knit in garter stitch until the swatch is as long as my index finger. Cut the yarn and cast on 10 again, when the swatches match I knit them together and work on 20 stitches for about and inch and a half, then I add six stitches to each end and work on 32 stitches for another inch and a half. Bind off 9 on each side and work on the 14 middle stitches for 2 inches. Then I bind off. Then I make another and sew them together, leaving the top of the head open for stuffing.
