Anyone ever make a rag quilt?
I am in the process of putting one together and while I am still in assembly mode...

It looks weird.

Granted I haven't yet clipped it and "ragged" it in the washer/dryer...

Perhaps I am just used to "normal" quilts but this rag one takes some getting used to....

1. A while back I got some various blue printed fabrics to make something similar
But being a newbie at quilting, I got cold feet.

The idea came from seeing Japanese boro like these on the web

I just searched for rag quilt instructions and I think I can combine the two and not be scared to attempt it. The instructins here make it look like I couldn't go wrong. Especially since I don't mean to follow a strict geometric pattern. I want to tear my fabrics and also age them a little with fabric softener.

What sort of patterns and fabrics are you using?

4. They are easy to do
Any one else doing one, remember to take to laundermat or have a very good lint trap that you clean constantly, while washing and drying the first few times.

5. I've made about 4 of those-
but only in flannel, and baby quilt size--

they turned out really cute--

I have a christmas tree one--for a wall hanging, but who knows when I'll ever get that one done!
