Good friend of Cuba, Venezuela, British MP George Galloway Banned from Entering Canada
Since George Galloway has been such a strong voice against the US blockade against Cuba and so supportive of Hugo Chavez, I just wanted to post this video from Democracy Now where he appeared today concerning Canada and their hissy fit about him making a trip to Palestine to give aid.

Background:
Canadian Judge Upholds Government Decision to Bar British MP George Galloway on National Security Grounds

A Canadian judge has upheld the Canadian government’s decision last month to ban the outspoken British lawmaker George Galloway from entering the country for a speaking tour. Canadian officials say they banned Galloway on national security grounds, saying he provided financial support to Hamas, the Palestinian political party which was elected in January 2006 and controls the Gaza Strip.

1. Elections don't count, ya know, unless they result in pro-U.S. global corporate predator
governments. Thus, Hamas winning elections in Palestine doesn't count. They're terrorists. The Chavistas winning in Venezuela doesn't count. They're socialists, and their president is a loudmouth, drug running, terrorist dictator. The indigenous winning in Bolivia doesn't count. They're little brown people. The Sandinistas winning in Nicaragua and the FMLN winning in El Salvador don't count. They fought Reagan's goons--the dirty little upstarts, maids, gardeners, what gall.

But, hey, now Colombia, there's a great election system. You vote wrong, you get a bullet in the head. That's democracy we can believe in. You get Medals of Freedom from the White House for 'winning' elections against dead or don't-want-to-be-dead voters.

And if you dare to support real elections of people who don't like U.S. global corporate predators and their war machine, even if you're of northern stock, you get banned from speaking in Canada.

What's wrong with this picture? Something wrong with me, I guess. I can't get past the roses being, actually, truly, unmistakably, no-question-about-it white, no matter what the Red Queen says.

2. I suspect the real problem, in the Americas anyway, is all these upstarts
are against FTAs. It's always really about the money or the power. That criminal Uribe embraces them which is why he can show up wearing the blood of Colombian laborers and Hillary will hug and kiss him.
