3. Wow, Cristina brings up Cuba

Listening in Spanish but English translation is sort of overriding her. Annoying.

"not comfortable, I feel ashamed" that Cuba is not present ..

18. Stupid Obama!
"."between right wing paramilitary and left wing insurgents." He has heads of state at the meeting with him who got where they are by being left wing insurgents.

Also, gringos do such a bad job at Latin American meetings. they dive in too quickly with the economic/micro finance/IDB/illegal drugs/security/firearms crap. With Latin Americans you need to weave your fabric for a while before you start slamming.

And finally "put the past behind you," Latin America. Well, I guess Obama wants that since we did so much crap TO Latin America. before the night is over Obama will wish he was back in Chicago.

20. It's more his culture than stupidity, magbana.
He's not a stupid man but he does carry his culture with him everywhere.

(It's funny because I figured out I was truly bi-cultural when I cringe equally during missteps by US speakers and by LA leaders. lol)

23. Of course it is his culture, but I will maintain my "stupid" claim because
when you are the prez of the US you have people around that should be helping with the style/tone thing especially at such an important meeting. Now if you throw an American on vacation in T and T at the podium I expect him to project his culture to the max.

24. The problem is, all those people are Americans, too.

26. there was nothing wrong with Obama's presentation. you're the moron
by the way its not just Spanish speaking leaders there. at least half are from the Caribbean states. no need for Obama to ramble aimlessly like Castro, Chavez, or Morales.

Great job Obama.

22. on the contrary, he was mercifully brief and to the point
Cristina was probably most grateful, during Ortega's speech she looked bored to death.

Looks like its not going your way. I'd suggest a new forum for you magbana.

EFerrari, I've seen Tony Saca hovering around Obama a couple of times. How creepy! I thought he was GONE already. It's not good seeing his little round face where one would expect to see a sensible one, instead!
